Eboa is/was a rare talent. If he was able to write his own songs & do the same for other band members, I just don't understand why there hasn't been enough music from him so far

You are correct, he has the voice, but he lacks other attributes of a Singer, the very first time I saw Wenge Muicia BCBG video, was a Live Concert. the first musician to attract me was JB Mpiana, the second was Werra, the two together with Makaba were more charismatic and that is why they are the most successful, only that Makaba was an instrumentalists.

You'll understand in the "codes of congolese music" thing why most musicians need solo career to hope being better financially,despite having been in big groups and having had at times big money in their hands,with only rare exceptions like genta or eclipse for example manageing to be very organized money wise
