Mbenzu Ngamboni Boskill aka Bozi Boziana , is my favourite Congolese artist of the last 30 years. Always calm in a turbulent industry. Perhaps none has done more to promote Women in Congolese artist...her protege's include Deese Mukange, Jolly Detta just to name a few.

Grand père, ya Benz! Been a big of his since the Langa Langa Stars days

Yea, most of the female talents were discovered and/or trained by him. With the exception of Les Amazones in Guinea (the first and only All female African band), he basically pioneered giving women lots of singing power in a group.  Betty Bis, Scola Miel, Blaisesse Ayembé, are other notable alumni

I always have a smile on my face when I watch this. All female chorus for the Anti Choc concert

It certainly feels like Women were more truly empowered in those days, nowadays they've been reduced to booty shaking and over sexualized accesories. Perhaps, with the exception of Koffi's Cindy ; I understand not everybody is fond of her.
