 I heard this guy passed away and he used to sing folklore...why most big band sing him praising him..

Maybe it's because he stuck to proper traditional music. He was quite popular and a crowd puller and when you listen to his music it's the one the Werrasons and Lacoste's of this world are copying for their generiques, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that atalukus Lobeso and Blaise came from Mabele Elisi's band.

none of them played with him but him and  lobeso are from the same village/region, like the mpela family,like fally,like boguys(hence the way boguys played his generique)
and many artists have interpreted his parts in modern music ( ba tcholilo of alain mpela in rdc for example,asomba tuku-tuku in abracadabra and so on)
and yes spot on blaise was with him before being with reddy and lacoste later,but he is a muluba
