Sacre Zaza said that people bleed and died in the stadium of Likasi, when he just entered he stage (not being able to sing). It seems almost every city in Zaire, experciened the same thing if Wemba was about to perform there in the years of his prime (1977-1982) and the years that followed until 1985. Ikonola also said something similar saying that when Wemba performed in the stadium of Lubumbashi, alot people died and that Wemba had to flee immediatly, being escorted by soldiers. The succes those stars had in that era was immense, it's just that they aren't videos of it and the few videos who exist are very rare.

Ok now i understand the part about how Kwamambu became influential in Viva even though he was not among the first recruits of the group. So Jado Le Cambogien, Bipoli and Djenga Ka had briefly left Viva which meant Vieux Kes became influential much to the trio's regret when they returned?

When they started Viva La Musica in december 1976, there were 4 singers (the late Petit Aziza, Jadot le Cambodgien, Bipoli na Fulu and Djenga Kisangani). On February the 26th they had their "sortie officiel" at Bar Type K. Emeneya joined 4 months later, but he used to have a thought time. Bipoli and Djenga K insulting him, calling him yuma, muana tchik, etc. Jadot not wanting to share the mic with him. Even Wemba himself wasn't trusting him, saying all the times "yo oza na forme ya bana tchik". Then when 3 months later, Jadot le Cambodgien, Bipoli, Djenga K and guitarist Julva left to form Karawa Musica, because they were furious that Papa Wemba didn't pay them well after supporting politician Justin Bomboko for his political campaign in Equateur. Justin Bomboko said that they would get each villa's, for the way they helped him win in his province. It made them think that he gave Papa Wemba a huge amount of money (he also gave him a huge amount of money, it was not that they could build villa's from it). Aziza and Emeneya were left alone in the singing section, not long after that Papa Wemba went to Europe for 1/2 months, leaving Viva La Musica behind in Kinshasa (It was the era that bands would perform each weekend in bars). However they got still voted as best band of Zaire, Papa Wemba as best star of the year and his song Mere Suprieure as best song. In meantime Karawa Musica was giving them a hard time, them having support from alot donors and the majority of Viva's staff (including Shaguy Sharufa who was Esperant's cousin or sister). The next year started recruited new singers like Fafa de Molokai, Djuna Djanana and Dindo Yogo and started to release alot of singles who brought Viva La Musica back on the top and Emeneya's influence started to grow. Karawa Musica on their side suddenly disbanded after 6 months of existence. Bipoli being the first to return Viva La Musica after stealing the band money to give it to his girlfriend, which was destined to rent instruments to perform in the weekend. It resulted in a  fight between Bipoli and Esperant, after that Bipoli couldn't justify himself, being Wemba's "enfant chéri" at that time he was quickly accepted back by Wemba. In the seben of Zonga Zonga he screamed "Bipoli a bulugani hein". Esperant and Jadot tried to start a duo, but it wasn't working since that the singing-section of Karawa Musica started as a trio. Esperant decided also to follow Bipoli in Viva La Musica, leaving Jadot alone with musicians like Julva, Nene Tchakou, etc. Jadot le Cambodgien didn't had any and also ended up by returning along with solist Julva. The three guys ended up by respecting Emeneya and they became friends. They hadn't any problems in the upcoming years, just that Bipoli would often snitch them when they were about to plan to do Wemba dirty or wanting to create a rebel band.

Merci Mfumu.

So why was Vieux Bokul solicited to join Tabuley's Afrisa even though he already had a group, was the group struggling or its that thing were large group leaders wanting to kill competition by taking small group leaders to join big groups.

No, they had huge succes in 1978 and 1979. It was just that Amazone had enough of Wemba's behaviour of sleeping with all girls, so she went to Europe and she said that she would only come back if he would x amount of money. Tabu Ley was aware about that and promising him to pay Wemba x money for a contract of 1 year. It made him and his guitarist Rigo Star joining Afrisa in 1979, leaving Viva La Musica behind. Tabu Ley needed him, because he wanted a star next to him. Tabu Ley went with Wemba and Afrisa to Senegal, Ivory Coast, Belgium, France and Germany. Wemba was able to get Amazone back and come through Tabu Ley in contact with the European media. Viva La Musica on his side started to have problems, Bipoli, Jadot and Djanana leaving Viva briefly. But they fought back and started to release succesful single and dances and the three guys coming back. Wemba on his fed started to be fed up, because he spent already some months in Afrisa, but he was never paid. So after 6 months he decided to leave Afrisa and rejoined Viva La Musica, Esperant Kisangani was furious, because didn't want him back lol. But Emeneya and Dindo saying that it's Wemba's band so they hadn't any choice.

Yeah, but I don't know the story behind it. It started with Dindo Yogo saying it in concerts and songs "Tala muisi ya Zaza, Tula muisi ya Zaza" and later on it became a synonym of running away.

Do you think that if he had remained in Afrisa he would have been the Papa Wemba we know today?

yes, because the contract they signed was just  for 1 year. Wemba had already a huge fanbase and Viva La Musica was a stable band, was voted as best star of the year 1977 & 1978 and getting more respect in 1979 before joining Afrisa, because of the way he started to experiment with his music (for example the song Bon Samaritain).

Don't remember which minute it was. But there was a point where Ado Yuhe said that he was feeling like Wemba wanted to get interviewed by him, to reveal some secrets like Franco did to Lunkunku Sampu. I didn't like it when he said that. It looks like he's obsessed with that interview, because it's the thrid or the fourth time that he said that about Wemba. Like he doesn't regret Wemba's death, but more regretting to having missed that opporturnity.
