he chooses what he wears himself and in the last years he's more been into buy a whole collection of a brand throughout the year regardless of whether he looks good in it or not

cause he's become lazy buddy and he's allowing himself to be surrounded by too many liabilities he also hasn't released a classic album in a long time like feux d'lamour, titanic or th which are still played till this day people know he's capable of still doing good stuff but he just doesn't seem bothered or lacks inspiration ahh well

Style is about wearing what suits your body(colour,figure,shape or what have you). Style is not about brand. JB is on the big side,he is not supposed to be wearing clothes with heavy/bold patterns or prints. So whether it is Dolce&Gabbana or a clothe bought from under the pedestrian bridge,what matters is does it look good on the wearer?
Fashion is what is in vogue whether it looks nice or terrible. Fashion is not the same as style please.
Obviously,it is not everyone that would have a good dress sense like Fally. Papa Wemba was a statement maker too when it comes to dressing.

Definitely agree that fashion doesn't mean style.
All the artists get the latest ready-to-wear catalogues from D&G, Gucci, Yamamoto, etc. seasonally and order the collections in custom sizes through their style consultants in Europe (like Simon Mbongo). I believe some have attended shows also. What matters is that audiences and fans recognize that what they are wearing is from the very latest edition of x brand; preferably première page na catalogue.
The difference is Papa Wemba, Emeneya, Fally, Ferre, Koffi, and some others only wore/wear what works on them.

You can do brands and still not look hideous in what you are wearing. These fashion brands make good clothes it only depends on what you want. Koffi's dressing used to be hideous and outrageous but now he seems to be dressing better.

Another point, JB only dresses eccentrically on stage or in his clips. I've seen him a few times at the airport and in Boston - he dresses normal and quite proper. It'd be boring to see artists in suits at every concert or clip.

Matebu5 don't get things mixed up please. It is not about wearing suits for all occasions; it is about style-what fits/looks good on an individual. There will always be power dressers,hideous dressers and eccentric dressers. I started by asking if he gets styled or he chooses what he wears himself. The model in one of the pictures you sent wearing what JB had on is slim. You can't expect a fat person to wear the same thing as a slim or skinny person. The prints on that clothe is too busy for a big person like JB-Dolce&Gabbanna or no Dolce&Gabbana.

here is my take on the debate, my opinion is pretty simple in the past jb like most artists was mainly offered clothes or got clothes stolen for him(the only artist in DRC i am certain who did not accept that is wazekwa and i witnessed it when i happened to be at his house with other guys coming from europe),and at those times jb was more into,french,italian,american depending on trend
and now that he has enough money to buy what he wants,he has gone on stage from a guy who is a very good dresser to being a sapeur,and the biggest goal of sapeurs who have enough money is first and foremost to dress expensive no matter what
what jb is doing now is what the likes of defao and adolphe dominguez or even his idol papa wemba did long ago,its more about enjoying themselves than purely aesthetics reasons,but in some occasions they combine dressing expensive and looking classy
Like said above,its a stage thing, in private jb dressed like he always used to do in the past,its only that recently he's gone hardcore into flashy expensive looks

emo will be happy with the part with the folk stuff with the female dancers,very agressive drums,thats a brilliant thing that both jb and seguin allow the second drummer to now be more than a simple number 2,the guy keeps improving,that equatorial guinea tour when seguin was resting surely has boosted his confidence big time
