Title: Hold up!..regarding Koffi's dad matanga
Post by: JV “Lone Ranger” on June 04, 2016, 21:33
How come no one from the Congolese press mentioned that Ferre also didn't attend Koffi's dad funeral even though he was around?.....are they in bad term again

Yeah they should've reported that, surprised that they didn't. They must have an issue since Koffi deleted Ferre's mabanga from Cobetox and Ferre not doing the video even though he could've done it.

It began when Koffi started mentioning and praising Fally - calling him the biggest 5gen star in various press interviews immediately following the release of the album. Following that was the lucrative mabanga issue - relations have been sour ever since.

It never ceases to amaze me how childish and insecure these otherwise esteemed artists can get in regards to relations with colleagues. One of issues that has contributed to the overall decline of the genre; zero solidarity amongst the most influential artists

In a very short amount of time relations flipped:

Sad....childish to a next level. Why can't everyone just get along, it's not as if anyone feeds each other

talking about this topic here is koffi's public humiliation of ferre over the  vieux jaloux song which himself  supported in the past and called ferre neymar and that werra will not succeed in  bringing him down
here in kin its also trending that ferre went to visit koffi at home for the loss of his dad but he got rejected

I'm not even surprised with the reaction of him in this video but why reject him  :(

I really don't see what he just said as a humiliation....that's just koffi trying to play the good guy, when we all know he supported that song when it was released. I doubt koffi would reject ferre's visit....I don't believe ferre attended

This is the problem is either a 50/50 chance it could be ferre attended and was rejected or maybe he didn't go (which is up to him)

Grown ups....established men displaying different degrees of childishness. Unforgiveness and vengeance seem to be a subtle part of the tradition in that region.  Too bad.

Koffi deleting Ferre's mabanga is something to be mad about but not going to a matanga for that reason is childish.

How about they eliminate the loathed mabanga all together and they wouldn't have this problem.

...That's like asking the NFL to take commercials out of Superbowl...

That is a real perfect example, why would they take away something that makes them the most money.

Because it's cheating. Making money solely off of shout outs isn't noble in my book and it's bad for business outside of Africa. Most non-Lingala speakers outside of Africa have no idea who those folks are that they're shouting out. For them it kills the music and it's annoying. A La Que Leu-Leu was a great album marred by mabanga spewed by Werrason which is unfortunate because it overshadowed great compositions from guys like Baby Ndombe and JDT.

I agree, it's unfortunate how it's become such an integral part of present music. We can thank? Werrason for making mabanga what it is today. The song 13ans from Kibuisa Mpimpa had about 115 names called out. A La Que Leu-Leu was mabanga overload in just about every song.

They are so money-minded that'll say anything for the right price.
