and here he became a pro-kabila surporter. Joseph Kabila was even the person who sponsored Papa Wemba's wedding with Amazone.

i honestly do not know deeply about that but for sure for any of those big stars it was better not to be in open war with authorities even if in reality they prefer other candidates
the generation of fally ferre and co is lucky that there are enough older popular stars alive so there is almost no pressure on them

^ Yes; and on a few occasions Kabila summoned all the artists to the presidential palace.
Under the Mobutu regime, unless they were specifically asked for a song or appearance at an event, artists were strongly advised away from politics for their safety. With Kabila (also Sassou) they are required to be more involved with big payouts for loyalty. They cannot decline requests for artistic services or they would face ramifications
