Just a quick question guys. .. is there a time frame given to get a gold disc?. .and how long would that be?  I recall emotion of late papa wemba getting certified gold years later. Same thing for nobles oblige of wankivia.  I always wonder if its too late for album like  kibuisa or TH to be certified gold.

Ps. . How the hell did werra miss a golden disc on kibuisa ? I still dont get it.  That album was well received  back in the days and still gives me goosebumps eveytime I play it. .

Sales have to be monitored by SNEP, and has to meet 100,000 or more sales within a year.

Its not more 100.000, since 2009 you have to sell more than 50.000 to get a gold record. But I heard that they will change soon the system, by couting YouTube-views and streaming in.

Yes the RIAA added streaming to sales last year, now it seems every other American and British artist goes platinum within a month.
