On 29 August 1998 Koffi followed the footsteps of his idol Tabu Ley by performing in the prestigious music-hall Olympia. The concert was sold out and Koffi's music-label Sonodisc planned then a concert at Zenith de Paris for 7th November the same year. Before the Olympia-show, Koffi was invited by French tv-Channel TV5. Koffi started a trend after performing in Olympia and Zenith with every Congolese/African Star wanting to perform there.

After the Zenith show and a tour in Canada & USA, JB Mpiana performed in September 1999 at l'Olympia. The show was voted by ACMCO as best concert of the 20th century (corruption ?) and his Zenith as best concert of the year.

Tabu Ley was like Koffi, also Wemba's idol and he followed his footsteps by performing there along with his band Nouvelle Ecriture, some musicians of Viva La Musica "Cour des Grands" and some musicians of Molokai. This concert was considered along with his Zenith of the same year as one of the best concerts of 2000 with Wemba winning along with Koffi the special jury Award of ACMCO in 2000, for performing in Bercy, Olympia & Zenith. Lambio Lambio who was the choreographe of the "Fioti-Fioti" won the best choreographe of the year-award, for the exceptional performance of the "Ba Fioti-Fioti" at Zenith & Olympia with Wemba giving him the nickname "Ndoki Ya Ndombe".

After the Zenith-show in 2001, Emeneya performed in 2002 at l'Olympia. He invited his idol Tabu Ley. Like Zenith 2001, the Olympia show was voted as the best show of 2002.

After touring in Europe Aldophe Dominguez gave a goodbye-show at Olympia. I never saw the VHS of this concert. ????

In 2007 Fally Ipupa confirmed his stardom by performing at l'Olympia. Stars like Lokua Kanza, Benni of Neg'Marrons & Krys were invited. By performing at l'Olympia Fally let the trend of performing in big French concerts return. Because after Koffi's fiasco at his last Zenith-show of 2003 Congolese artists started to perform only in smal musichalls like LSC, Bataclan, Elysee Montmartre.
What is the best Olympia-show ?
Excluding Abeti Masikini's Olympia shows of 1973 & '75 and Tabu Ley's Olympia of 1970, which was never released on VHS and on Vinyl/CD (the "official" released cd is in reality a live studio-recorded album)

I have to say King Kester Emeneya Killed it on both his 2002 ( with Tabu Ley ) and 2008 Olympia shows.
The quality of both the shows and the production were top-notch, and the sound recording is excellent.
Never get tired of watching them two shows over and over...

If ever there was a perfect concert, for me it would have to be Kester's 2008 Olympia. I have it on DVD and CD/MP3 - everything from the arrangement and tuning of the instruments to the way each vocalist sings is to a level other artists can only dream of.
