Koffi Olomide performing in a packed Stade Felix-Houphouet Boigny in Abidjan. The crazy thing is that after this concert Koffi rushed in cortegr towards Burkina Faso with help of his friend Ahmed Bakayoko, because there was an arrest-warrant against Koffi in Ivory Coast at that time. A man called Jean Marcel Tapé who colloraboted with him in the Magie-days, claimed that Koffi scammed him 25 millions francs cfa. Koffi Olomide would return Ivory Coast the next year and perform there without problem. Gessac's animation "Ce Le Moment" was a big succes in this concert and was because of that invited in a coupe decale song of Radio Nostalgie-journalist Eric Didia
This was at the time that Ferre Gola & Fally Ipupa were dominating Kinshasa and people claiming that Koffi Olomide was finished. In meantime Koffi was performing in countries like Senegal, Tanzania & Zambia where the Danger de Mort-album had a good recepetion compared to Kinshasa.

haha, many of his longest and most loyal fans are Ivorian. They have short memories of scandals as long as he shows up and plays Andrada and Micko as the first two opening songs
He got his first big francophone exposure there in 1988 on a then famous show, which name escapes me.
In the late 90's before the coupé decale era he was the best selling artist in the country, followed by Defao and Extra Musica. Radio Nostalgie felt like Koffi radio then :D
