In the 1990s this dressing the way Roi De La Foret (Werrason) is dressed with the trousers tacked high up almost on the chest became so popular beyond DRC borders. In Zambia we would call it "Wenge Dressing". Tells you the influence that Rumba music and in particular Wenge Musica had.

Yeah it was a trend back then. Yeah you remember here in Zambia it was called Wenge

I remember vividly. At the time Wenge Musica 4*4 TT was the  hottest Congolese group. And the fact that they were young made whatever they wore trendy.
