Papa Wemba was the artist who started the modern folklore générique trend in the mid-2000s with rhythmist, Costa Pinto dominating.
His lineup was my favorite:
Atalakous: Biscuit Des Ecoliers "le beau animateur", Bob Djamousket "Ambassadeur de l'ambiance", CPP "Aminateur-Pasteur"

Man, the mabanga Wemba gave to all his colleagues in song would make you think they never had conflicts “Moto oyo ba ko ka measuré ye te, oza grand frère propre... ya Koffi Olomide… Le Grande Mopao” (Nzungu na kifinuku).

I think Wemba was the best at folklore. Most folklore songs are trash because there's no creativity, the rhythm section is weak, or the atalakous don't have folklore training

I got to like Araignee over time, the video helped it. The animation was good along with the spider dance. Folklore songs are good like Musala, Mungala and Tshiluba.

Biscuit des Eciers claiming that he never animates "ba bétise", but since Bazonkion he has always an animation about those things. Espcially that generique of Kaka Yo "Nzungu na Kifiniku". He's lucky that those internet-journalists and those of the tv doesn't do alot of research.
