He was asked to start a couple of private questions about his parents and children and they asked what would he do to his parents now if they were alive, he says its always tough for him to talk about them a lot of people do not know how painful it is to have lost your parents and some have made of it something fun saying he sacrificed them and he says losing your parents is surely the worst thing you can go through he'd prefer not to say i would have done this or that but he hopes wherever they are now they rest in peace and he tries to cope with it and maybe he is having the career he has because God has special protection for orphans
then about his friends he is asked about some of them having major fallouts and whether he is the one liking it and he replies that he is one the rare artists maybe the one who has that much longterm friends still around him and its normal that sometimes there are problems here and there but you make sure it does not reach a point where it has not gone too far
he is asked about the secret of his success and he says he knows people like to think his secret is witchcraft and he adds that if its witchcraft then there are plenty of sorcerers if its was only witchcraft then it would be very easy to see much more guys in kin having a similar career or more
he says his secret is working hard and taking every opportunity seriously, being focused on his career and not on useless stuff and with God's help you will get success and its the same thing in any job
if it was only witchcraft in life, then senegalse football team would have won World Cup since according to Morocco's coach who he met that the country with most powerful sorcerers
and outside of his work as a musician another secret of his success is the way he makes some effort to have lively social network so its easier to get people's attention when he releases because he keeps feeding them on regular basis in order to be on alert when he drops a song or an album so people should not see the result only but all what is done to reach that result
and he explained that back in talent latent he says" fally ipupa champion of africa and caribbean"because that was his ambition and says to them you can ask in my area from a young age i always had determination to make history in our music and that champion title he was lucky and proud to get it less than two years after going solo but continued working hard because he had determination to keep going and he reveals that in the talent latent album he had done but many songs were re done by more experienced eric tutsi
he is asked who he owes his career from talent latent to today and he says first of all his late mother who was also a singer and understood his desire to sing and supported him while his dad was strongly against and wanted him to become a doctor and
after his mother he can mention somebody like willy bula who him and many other young guys who later made it in big groups used to work with in private and of course koffi olomide who taught him a lot and he reveals that he wanted eternellement to be a sebene song but its koffi who said let it remain a rumba you'll see
he also has a special word for his friends like zagalo, choumen, kalombo, djino liaki...and he says they have contributed so much in his career thats why he has "offered" them his group
he is asked whether its ferre's arrival which bothered him and made him record solo album and leave and he says no he believes time had just come and it was becoming a strange period for quartier latin with a lot of issues some musicians were in europe with koffi and they had to do group album and he happened to have had then a lot of songs to pick from and he keeps some parts of the story for his movie one day but for sure it had nothing to do with another musician
and he says unlike a lot of musicians,he actually liked it when quartier latin was becoming stronger and reveals that when koffi wanted to recruit ferre he asked him and they were on their way to senegal(indeed all the other members of les marquis approached said they were in contact with koffi who was in way to senegal) and he said to koffi to go ahead because ferre is a very good singer
he liked competition they had in quartier latin and people forget that apart from ferre the likes of montana, shella and co who were also very talented joined the group
and he reveals that quartier latin had a particular way of doing chorus every of the singers would do all the types of voices then go freestyle a bit whereas in other group you already know that tenorist who record alone as the tenorist would record separately and same for other voices then they'll find some way to make it gel together
and he goes on to say he was not the type of chef d'orchestre to be against people joining and gives example of mirage who he told to koffi pres" get him he is a fantastic singer while some did not want him in(i guess it was soleil lol) and even on trips sometimes the likes of apocalypse or acide koffi had doubts on taking them to europe because he thought they'd run away and he convinced him because he thought they were talented so he did not fear competition as he knew his qualities
so all in all what lead to his album was the context of quartier latin and the fact he had too much quality songs in his hands while he had just one song to release
he is asked about the fact he does not have spokesmen anymore and the fact he showed some his houses recently which he was not doing earlier and he says actually its not him who showed his houses but rather some of his friends and he was upset at it and wanted those videos to be removed but anyways its not a big deal
he stopped having spokesmen because he wanted to bring a new vision in congolese music which was that polemic should not be as integral a part as it is to people's eyes in order to be succesful and relevant,he had some spokesmen in the past because he was new in the game so he was copying the structure of groups he found but he decided not to have spokesmen anymore from the fact most of them are too much into polemic and his two former spokesmen kisindjora and tresor kongolo claimed with a lot of noise that they are the ones who made him the star he is so he wanted to see if his career would go down without spokesmen and so far he believes he is still having a good career
and he says those who are too much into polemic its surely because they lack enough things to say about their music so they do polemic in order to be relevant whereas he can talk for hours just about his music so he does not need spokesmen
and about his houses he says its not his type to show off with his houses because he knows there is a lot of poverty in the world

Mmm nice interview sorry for his parents but I think he have lied on the Ferre part, if it was this cool to him to be with Ferre he would have done a feat a shutout of the Album Ferre did but it never happened, I think he respects him though, anyway yes, he is really a hard worker along with the Koffi one is one of the few musical orchestras in Congo where you get played and so on. If he wants to make history he should stop following people like R
Kelly and make Azonto/R'n'B type of song and sticking it to Rumba and Ndombolo Stromae's Papaoutai even though Stromae is of Rwandans's origins is purely a Congolese song with French words and got almost half a billion views, soon as Fally will have to chance to be spotted by a big label group I am sure he will be the next world superstar the work is good anyway keep it up
-
Lol...Fally we both know you’re lying about the Ferre part...it did bother you a lot.
-
yes i think what bothered him about ferre especially is how koffi "took the "kiula" he gave him and gave it to ferre and to add insult to injury put eddy badiata as ferre's driver lol mopao coté ba nko deux fois te
but he started getting unhappy since 2004 at some point he even held a reunion in bandal over thinking about accepting to move to maison mere
i guess if ferre and fally had a similar background of relationshi as jb and werra or even koffi wemba kester to some extent,we'd see them together a bit now, they won 80 90 per cent of what a guy can go solo for already

yeah i remember that time that he wanted to left and then he came with that idea to present that Droit Chemin-project to Koffi, which made Koffi Olomide angry. Taking him and Jordan Kusa then not to Zimbabwe and Zambia with the press speculating about Fally's and Jordan's departure and suddenly that big quartier latin where Koffi asked to all members if they would find it ok if he could record and solo album with everybody refusing except Montana and also Titina if i'm right. But Koffi then accept it after some advice from staff instead of fire him from the band. I guess that if Ferre didn't decided to leave, that he Koffi would treat Fally on the end like Suzuki, Mboshi and Champion before they left. To punish him for that idea of recording a solo album in his band, but Fally was very smart.
-
Loool let's be honest fally it bothered you and everyone else when ferre joined but obviously he's not gonna say that on tv
-
maybe thats the part he wanted to keep for his movie,he never really expressed his full feelings about his last year and half in quartier latin but whenever he talks a bit about it you can feel it was bigger than just the treatment ferre got,its like he felt he was loosing a lot of his advantages as chef and at the same time was having too much songs in his hands
-
The movie thing sounds like a good idea too I hope he goes forward with that
-
In which context did Fally say "Po nga nazalaki koloka na vieux"
-
musicians and journalists(you'll hear for example naty lokole say that a lot) use that word a lot to mean "having private discussion" or the conception of a song before the lead records and so on(or the way journalist prepare shows with people around him to collect or create questions)
if i am not mistaken thats actually the real sense of koloka in real old school lingala, koffi even said this year often he'd call fally anytime in the day or even in the night and they'd start talking and talking singing(which is why fally was very involved in most songs in his era) giving him advice and so on
-
shame it was not on the video(as it was removed apparently by vincent or on demand of fally's staff) but fally explained apparently why he still lives in the house he was renting in quartier latin days while he has over 8 ready houses and he was asked if him and ferre were to sing a song of another artist together which song it is and he answered, and jazz who co presented the interview said that before interview started fally clearly was saying what he liked about fabregas as an artist and same for ferre and he said clearly he likes this and that song from ferre in solo career
-

ndeko, can you explain why Fally stays in this house? The sound that he and Ferré would have sung? What he likes about Fabregas and Ferré? And the song of Ferré's solo career?
-
unfortunately the guy did not reveal what fally said but it was surely the fact he can rehearse there (and maybe a spiritual reason)
and from what i know from private experience fally loves mercure soke and maboko pamba (and ther other ones they did not reveal)

I heard that Koffi humilated the Quartier Latin many times along with Ferre. For example; normally if Koffi came with his Hummer to his house everybody had to stand up. But one day he gave that Hummer to Ferre and he came with it to his house with all musicians standing up, but they then discover it that it was Ferre, when he came out the car with all musicians being pissed off.

lol, that's hilarious. Would've loved to see them fuming when they saw a short Ferre hopping put of that orange Hummer. A suv none of them could've afforded at the time

Someone do a documentary about Koffi already! Too much drama. LOL
