Was this generique recorded in Kinshasa or Paris ? I remember the press reporting that Koffi was reworking the generic of Danger de Mort, in the last days of their tour in Europe. Because he wasn't happy with the original generic and he didn't want the generic flop like those of Monde Arabe. But the crazy thing is that you can hear Brigade & Mukusa Ya Mbwa animating in that generic, while they were left behind in Kinshasa.

Must've been in Kinshasa but then modified in Europe cause mboshi I believe rejoined the group in Europe, how were the monde arabe generiques flops if anything it was the danger de mort generique that was a flop

The only thing I know is that there is a version where Apocalyose screams "chuba" and "elengi" when Brigade is coming in. Monde Arabe generiques were not a flop, they are still played.

Yes they are played at parties. But it flopped very hard the time it came out. Don't forget that it was released at same period with Alerte Generale & 7eme Lecon. I remember journalists asking to Koffi why those generics were not wel received compared to the rumba's who were a huge succes. With Koffi reacting irrtated that generics are not important and giving an example that Jean Goubald's album Bombe Automique don't have a generic. Also saying that if you are in bed with your wife, that you would not listen to generics (imitating the voice of those atalaku's), but to songs like Aliya, Eputsha & Aubergine.
Danger de Mort flopped, but the generic did it better than Héros National and l'Autre La. It was along Insecticide and Pharmacien the only tracks who did it well. I don't understand why Koffi decided to release the videoclips of Danger de Mort. Because it boosted Fally & Ferre's succes even more and it brought more and more to the ground. Insecticide was like a preview of Sens Interdite. I remember people calling Pharmacien the 13th song of Droit Chemin.

it's a shame that "Danger de mort" has made a flop, it's not the best album of the Latin Quarter but it contained good songs like "Pharmacien", "Insecticide", "Diviser par deux" ... Droit Chemin and Sens Interdit are better than this album

yes the conception of that generique started with jp kys then they modified once in europe
indeed pharmacien was a droit chemin song,the orginal plan from the song he had collected from tony,mosaka and co was 15 songs,5eme race was also a potential droit chemin song,cadenas arrived when he had already finished album so it was saved for arsenal
same for ferre,songs like insecticide or mercure were in the project he was starting in belgium with picasse before going to quartier latin

for a first album, 12 songs is the perfect number. Today we have albums of 25-30 even 40 songs like 13e apôtre that people still have not finished in two years

l'Autre La is banger for me, but understand why it didn't wasn't a big hit. Subjectively it's too busy with all the screaming and too many rhythm changes.
