haha that myth with kabila really helps him;if he clears it out too strongly some people will love him less or assuming its true if he talks about it he could be in trouble so he always manages to maintain some status quo even if answering that its false

there is a 15+ year old rumour that kabila was his driver in tanzania(with the rumour that kabila is not the childrent of his late father ) so he does not go back to drc according to those who believe it because he fears kabila will humiliate him now that positions have switched and that potentially he'll confirm that indeed he was not kabila's son
but at the same time the name of defao is mentioned in almost every music show non stop over the past 10 years which would not happen if he was blacklisted since authorities control everything even internet
and the other side of the story with kabila is that its apparently some other artists who created it as they were jealous of his success

Rumour has it that Defao was too famous musically and late Étienne Tshisekedi or his supporters were all over Defao's lyrics (but hidden in messages). When it was uncovered, Defao's life was in danger and he fled first to Zambia, held cheap concerts while negotiating for asylum....we refused and he finally settled in Kenya..
