Since 2017 is coming to an end I feel like it's time we reflect back on this past year and the music that has been released I feel like this year has been Ferre's year (excluding the recent polemique) QQJD was what I feel the album of the year even though I'm more of a sebene guy than rhumba I did enjoy the album, Nyataquance was nothing new to me same old stuff from koffi but surprisingly the generique has been doing okay and is played at clubs and parties with the dance ya ba boss. Werras' album 7 Jours was okay I wasn't really that into it unlike some others it had cool songs here and there but I wasn't a fan of the autotune, Fally's Tokoss was well not the best thing I heard but it was a decent attempt from him he just didn't try enough but surprisingly or not I should say some songs are being played and eloko yo wasn't well received in the beginning but it's been doing well I also enjoyed Cursus by Light Music Villa Nova I thought it was decent and also recently Cappucino's new album was great which was ruined by the bad mixing of the generiques
Overall I do think 2017 Belongs to Ferre Gola lol it's my opinion but everyone's free to contribute

Ya'll are sleeping hard on Karmapa's new album, Caligula. I will write a proper review soon, but wow what album.
I have it at least on the same level as QQJT, maybe even better because his générique is awesome, whereas QQJT's génériques I always skip because I find them weak (in my opinion).
My top three albums this year from major artists are QQJD, Caligula, and 7 Jours.
Honorable mentions to Ibrator & Contre Maîtres and also Madilu Systeme's son, Letis Madilu and his new superb album.

7Jour is my best album so far. QQJD took long to sink but I'm finally starting to enjoy it.
Fabro Maestro has had an outstanding year staying relevant and active. Zigida and Hosanna (????????????) in particular will leave a lasting impression with me. His group Light Music Villa Nova looks quite organized compared to some of his peers and seniors.
This year I made a deliberate attempt to dig deeper for music, new and old from some of those less hyped musicians and I haven't been disappointed. Music from the likes of Chouchou Miyake, Fila Basele, Gaylord Diam, Lassa Lacolyte etc
I'm still waiting to get Caligula and I'm delighted to learn Bozi Boziana has got a new album out. I wish Zaiko could have released something too before year end but....
