Title: KENNEDY SHAMALLA HELD IN SUDAN
Post by: Nyumu Wa Mukiti on January 22, 2018, 12:06
One of our very active contributors in this forum Kennedy Shamalla is held in Sudan after a plane he was co-piloting crashed while taking off from Juba.

The abductors are demanding a ransom of $200,000 or thereabouts for their release.

Let us kindly remember them and their families in this time of distress.

Pole Sana!

I read of the incident in the dailies, I hope the Kenyan Government takes up the matter with the Government of South Sudan.
The last time we had such an incident it took four years for the Kenyans to be released and even then after a lot of intense pressure both on social Media and Local media and personalities.

I Pray for his safe return home...

Wow, I hope him and the other pilot will return home safely and soon. That's weird how they are letting them walk out in the town in the day but at night have guards around them. And South Sudan already got independence so why have rebel groups anyone know their purpose?

Been thinking about ndeko Shamala's predicatment all day. It's just about the scariest ordeal anyone can encounter. Hopefully there's a peaceful solution and Shamala can return to his post as our benevolent "Porte-parole de JB Mpiana et Wenge BCBG"

I wish my brother safety and a quick freedom. Its sad South Sudan is quickly turning into a terrorist country. They are becoming dogs. You can't treat your neighbors with contempt the way they have been doing. In fact Kenya has been too lenient with South Sudan. They capture, torture and kill Kenyans while their war lords and fellow citizens are living large in here.

So are they being held due to the fact that their crash destroyed "property" and the loss of a life?

^ Holding people ransom for money is a very very occurrence in East Africa. Big business for these pirates and abductors

Glad to hear the Kenyan government is taking action. I'd argue the Kenyan government is most competent in Africa right now, so I have some confidence in this situation now.

Shamallah, God is with you, tunakupenda sana brother and I will  pray for your safety , good health and release.  If I had that monies , you are one person I'd freely spend on.  Shamallah is from my Luhya tribe, a group of the Congo tribe that migrated to Kenya via Uganda during the ancient migrationon years. Funny as a Pilot myself (airline), the other day I flew with a Kenyan who in his past job was also abducted in South Sudan but this is the first time I hear of Crash survivors being held hostage. What has the world come to , lets continue to pray for their safety and eventual return to their loved ones.

^ A very macabre practice that's become too common in that region.

I'm not a religious person, but let's all continue to keep ndeko Shamala in our thoughts and prayers.
