That's not the only song Koffi remixed. Tsiane of Pas de Faux Pas has a part of the song Onia from 1977. Henritie, which he sung with King Kester Emeneya is a remix of Ekila Maze from 1982.

It seems he samples quite a bit; do these artists or their estate whom Koffi Olomide samples from get royalties from the sampling?

Never heard that before. These are remixes of his own compositions. DRC artists don’t sample like rappers, but their groups would utilize the popular dances of the time.
