If we got rhumbas of this level on present albums, then the 1 générique + 11 rhumbas trend would be much more tolerable.

And notice how the only mabanga placed into the lyrics for the entire song is the one Koffi gives to his wife. We have too many rhumbas with empty lyrics because it's just mabanga.

The prefer the rumba's of Monde Arabe above those of Effrakata. Monde Arabe could have been Koffi Olomide's best album ever if had made better generics, sebene songs and throwed those cross-covers songs away (Essili and Sexy Pop). I didn't really like Essili and Sexy Pop. I don't understand why he prefered to release Essili instead of Bomengo.

Riziki and Respect were excellent as sebene-songs(played by Ramazani and Lebou Kabuya), but Mopao en Or and Rouge a Levre were average. It looks like that both songs were made on the last minute and without determinaton. I think looks that Felly Tyson wasn't inspired anymore. Maybe because of Koffi dismissing as Chef d'Orchestre at that time and replacing him by Fally Ipupa.

"Frere" Dakumuda sung on this, like he was a member of Quartier Latin. This song was supposed to be a duet with Julio Iglesias (who was one of idols). But Julio refused Koffi's offer. I remember the press reporting that he wanted to invite him and Youssou N'dour for Monde Arabe.

Yeah, I think the last time I played Essili and Sexy Pop was when I bought the album. Neither are interesting at all.
Mopao en Or and Rouge a Levre were the last two songs put together , if I remember correctly to add a little more sebene. Rouge a Levre was when I knew Kerozene's career as a big time atalakou was over. He sounded terrible in that song, to put it lightly. And it was clearly cut-and-paste.
L'autre Lâ would've been a bigger commerical success if Koffi wasn't screaming through it. I like it, but I clearly understand why it didn't work.
Why Julio refused? It would have been a huge hit
It was a matter of Julio of not really knowing who Koffi was or about his fame in the African community, so there were no real sour feelings from Koffi afterwards.

I believe @mvulusi was saying the opposite, he doesn’t like all the acoustic, one tempo odemba-style that Ferre sticks to doing.

Aubergine, Respect, Ngouli & Eputsha are very solid as well.
It was weird, Deo didn’t really participate like Jordan Kusa- he was in the Aubergine clip and one or two others. Of course he was gone permanently soon after

deo brando's case remind me of willy bula's case in the v12 era, he's in the videos but not in songs, but i thing his vocals were removed cause we can hear his voice in aubergine (clip version)

You are forgetting Embargo, the salsa song Stand-by and Aliya with Musulman, who were both songs recorded with an acoustic guitar. He started a trend without knowing it. I remember how Koffi said in interviews that Monde Arabe would revolutionize Congolese music and he was right.
So sad that he didn't credit Fofo Le Collegien who did an execellent job on Musulman, Aliya and that folklore part on Embargo. Koffi was to lucky to have the talented Mbetenge Domingo in his band, who was at that time mote on the background. Ramazani, Lebou Kabuya weren't also credited. I guess that Koffi was angry the way they decided to stay in Europe to get papers.
All rumba's were excellent. It's funny how Koffi facked people by promoting Musulman alot acting like it was the best rumba of Monde Arabe. Musulman and Silivi were then most awaited songs of 2004. This album deserved a gold record.
I loved the way Koffi let Titina play drums on Eputsha and Aubergine instead of using programated drums. The sound of the drums were excellent like those of Affaire d'Etat, Effrakata & Attentat. Listen how Riziki starts. I miss those drum sounds in the albums of these days.
I still wonder how the Bomengo-version of Monde Arabe is. Koffi needs to release a cd with all the songs he recorded in his career who were never officialy released.

I have always wondered how Koffi kept Deo in QL while he could not sing properly. Was it that he was suitable in chorus? He looked more of a farmer than a musician.

What do you mean deo can sing? I always found him decent it's his dancing skills that weren't the best but he wasn't bad either he danced in a more comedic way

@ken bilele ; Deo Brando is a pretty good singer and compser in my book. Wasn’t someone that would wow an audience, but good enough. He had some nice songs in Zaiko

Yea, he was definitely very shy and passive. Charisma is the only way artists succeed
Not as shy as Felly Tyson tough :D, when you see him in person you almost forget how legendary of guitarist he is. Always in corner somewhere wearing black when not performing

Although the album has a special place in my heart because it was nice to hear CNN in top form again! By the way, how old is atalaku CNN?

I'ts because Kerozene rejoined Quartier Latin and he didn't had animations. Kerozone left Quartier Latin in 2003, because he made a girl pregnant and wanted to be present for the birth of his daugther Kendra. Koffi was very dissapointed in him, when he said that he wanted to stay after the Zenith-show '03. He said that he would follow the group in Kinshasa after that, but he didn't do it and went to join Les Pipiyu. Then he rejoined Quartier Latin, when they came for the recordings of Monde Arabe. But saw that his place wasn't there and decided to stay in France and became close to JDT Mulopwe, when Les Marquis was formed. He appeared even in the videoclip of Ecole.I guess that his dream was to form a duo with his ex'idol Bill Clinton Kalonji, but that Bill refused.He joined Les Marquis when Bill left. Bill had to be simple like Calugi, who accepted to have photocopies. Look how much respect Mboshi and Theo Mbala have for Calugi.
CNN was not supposed to be there like Brigade. Monde Arabe had to be a duo of Acide Wanzambi and Apocalyps. But CNN came on his own in Europe. I guess that that made him stay, since he saw that Koffi didn't want/need hilm in the band. The same Acide who stole Koffi's heart decided to stay in Europe.

Koffi only wanted Apocalypse and Acide in Monde Arabe. That would be very weird. Did Brigade was left because of a money problem with Koffi ? Because I expected the atalaku duo to be CNN-Brigade. In my opinion they were and they still waaay better than Apoca-Acide. CNN and Apocalypse made some Brigade's cries in Monde Arabe.

Yeah, apprently. He and Cambodge had some problems with Koffi about that and to punish them Koffi decided to left them behind for 2003-04 tour. So they went both to BCBG, but JB Mpiana didn't want to get them. Maybe because he didn't had good experience with CNN, Champion & Mamale who all joined in the 2001-02 period with Cambogde having problems with Seguin. So they went then to Maison Mere.

Many Koffi-fans didn't like the CNN-Brigade duo, in that era everybody liked falsetto-atalaku's who were animating and dancing like Bill Clinton.
