I think that it made him emotional the way Sam Tshintu forced him out of Academia. He attacked Sam Tshintu very hard every interview he made after his depature. Lebou was lucky that Benji contacted him who just formed his own recordlabel. He was thinking about rejoining Quartier Latin or joining Victoria Eleison. Quartier Latin Integral was more like a zong-zing in the beginning.

Victoria Eleison would have been a weird choice for Lebou; I don't know if his guitar tone (at that time) would mix well with Kester's band. Besides, that group was declining in popularity, their album Nouvel Ordre underperformed compared to the impact of Longue Histoire.
Quartier Latin Integral wasn't organized from the start, so they never really had a chance. The strength of that group was built of the EP which was completed with session artist instead of actual band members, Vodoo would eventually come around but the impact of the generique had ran it's course.

that doesn't matter. Willy Ebondaki & Zozo Malamba didn't had the style of Victoria Eleison what Huits Kilo's, Bongo Wende,Akwesa Kumbaro & Auguy Lutula left to them. Look to the difference of Longue Histoire & Mboka Mboka with the music Emeneya was making in the 80's & the early/mid 90's. Beniko Popolipo came from Isifi, Viva La Musica & Langa Langa Stars but look how he changed his style in Zaiko and how he created with that the standard style of Zaiko. The same Popolipo joined Quartier Latin, but changed his style again which created the standard style of Quartier Latin and did the same thing in Academia. Ramazani came from Nouvelle Ecriture and had a different style of playing sebene listen to the albums Dans 'L, Ya Biso Moko & Nouvelle Ecriture. But look how he played sebene when he joined Quartier Latin (Ravisse, Gilba, Suivez Le Guide, Pin Code, Anissa, Danao & Juif Noire). Before joining Nouvelle Ecriture he played in Choc Stars when he had also another style of playing lead-guitar. And so are there many other examples Roxy Tshimpaka, Pathy Moleso, Laurent Mosengwo, etc.
The flop of Nouvel Ordre was because almost the entire band decided to stay in Europe. With Emeneya being alone and he couldn't promote the songs since that all the songs were those of his musicians. Lusafrica/BMG came to Kinshasa to shoot videoclips, but they couldn't record since that the musicians weren't there with a singer of Zouk-band Kassav benefiting of that.

Although a guitarist may adapt his sound to mesh with the group, I don't think Lebou's inclusion would have helped Victoria Eleison and vise versa. They were on a decline at that point, from which they never returned to proper form.
What good career options did he have avaliable to him after Quartier Latin Integral?
