Title: LEGENDE VIVANTE BENIKO POPOLIPO ET BLACK BAZAR

I stumbled upon this video today. Its an old one (from 2014). Featuring the great Beenikooooo (allow me to phrase it that way), Caen Madoka on Rhythm and Michel Lumana (Michel Bass) on bass. Don't know who's on drums, but he's very good. 

The 'Zebola' rhythm from minute  1:10 to around 5:50 brings back memories of "Micko", which I strongly believe that was originally played by Popolipo.

I'm currently watching this clip on autorepeat; I don't know if I'll sleep tonight coz it's already 2 am here. Hehehe.

Benikoooooo "Zero Faute". Brotha really came a long from starting as accompaniment towards becoming a polyvalent musician (solo, rhythm, bass).

Beniko indeed...is the creator of the timeless Zebola "Micko" rhythm. Ndombolo Ya Solooooo

When he left QL, it really did damage to Koffi Olomide and the band since he was very instrumental in the band's rhythm section. He also helped groomed Felly Tyson.

why is koffi so stubborn.. Beniko was heavily involved in the making of the album "Attentat" and other previous projects, and for some reason Koffi decided not take him on the BERCY concert.... I'll never understand...

It’s due to the fact, beniko drop an album just before with bouro mpela, somono & kester features wich made koffi angry. Ungrateful!

A genius ! My favorite guitarist.

You can also hear that "Zebola" rhythm in "Julia", his song in Magie.

I whiz he explained how he came up with that rhythm.

Koffi Olomide was an idiot for letting go Beniko Popolipo. He should have known that Beniko was his own man. I cannot believe Beniko needed to ask Koffi for a solo album. Who does Koffi think he is.

Anyway, Beniko and Ballou Canta (who is in that video) maybe working on a new project. If true, I hope it comes out soon.
