You knkw, I think that lyric wise and for historical cries Celeo is way better than Bill becuase Bill yes he is a showman, can dance and can go for hours making cries right away but Celeo on the other hand has always released cries that stayed, Ko Yimbi Ko still to these days is used by everyone Nigerians, Congolese, Kenyans, French and so on whike it is hard to find a crie of Bill that has left the mark as Ko Yimbi Ko did.
I think that if Werra gave Celeo more space, Koffi wouldn't have been able to counterback wenge on the generique section with Generation Bercy, because the only crie that Celeo was allowed in the main generique was Ko Yimbi Ko and that is the only crie that stucked over rhe rest of the time

lol, those guys are the worst, especially when they are paid up front. One time a few friends and I commandered a dj booth only to find out he had very little decent songs in his collection. It’s hard to find a decent dj that really knows all the hits past and present.

I understand what you're saying, but Celeo knew since day ONE that Werrason didn't want him. If he was in Masion Mere for all these years, it was because of his skillful animations that preserved him...nothing else!
At that point, his only responsibility is to make sure he's saving money in the event he is forced out Masion Mere so that he can launch his solo career, which is what he did.

The Roi David-buzz continued until he left. He was there to attack Bill Clinton everytime on tv (Prince took that role after he left) and when they just released Sous Sol there was a making off-video where sung in English which created alot of buzz on those skyrock-pages and msn-messenger.
Werrason didn't like Celeo from day 1 and in 2006 despite being DR Congo's most famous atalaku of the moment, he wanted him out of the band. The reason was because he had good relations and being cloer with those big influent policitians of PPRD, Vital Kamerhe, Moise Katumbi, etc. and also those soccerplayers (Lualua, Nonda, Mputu, Biscotte Mbala, Matoumona Roum, etc.), donors (Didi Kinuani), then him. He started to buy expensive cars, building houses and have alot of expensive clohts from sapeurs, which made Werrason being kind of jealous against him. Because Congolese bandleaders want all their musicians be poor with them begging for them. So they were looking a way to get him out the band. TSo they started to use Heritier against him who buyed the same car like him. Then when Brigade came it was the good moment. During the tour they were sending Linda and Gisele to insult him in public with Werrason being present and saying nothing. The relation was so bad that he and Flamme decided not to participate on that world-album Sans Poto which pissed Werrason off. During his last concert at Savigny Le Temps he fought against Sankara De Kunta who was attacking him with Blaise Element during the concert. Saying nasty things if he was taking and praising Brigade. Then after it Werrason made a little meeting on their rehearsal place in Paris some days before they returned with him saying that it was the moment to have Celeo out off the band, back then they were thinking he would stay in Europe. So they decided to do a big 12 against him in Kinshasa if he still would be in the band. Then they Celeo's passeport with Celeo being illegal in France and which created all that drama 1 year long. With those La-Zamba attacking musicians who were coming to do a test (yo oza passeport ?, etc.), Prince doing cries about, etc.

Naaah, Tozo lia yo 3 point was the crie of the year. Eh, how people were standing up if the generic were coming on that part, especially to piss those Koffi and JB-fans off hahahaha. Celeo was then the best atalaku of 2007. The strange thing of Sous Sol was that people weren't really paying attention to it in the beginning since that the succes of Droit Chemin was to strong.

With all the respect for Congolese leaders, they are so dumb people, for real, a guy is showing all his loyalness by sticking to you even though you treat him lime shit and you reward him with jealousy? This is the reason why Congolese music is not getting anywhere and people from close stste steal and make money off of Ndombolo and Rumbas, Ivory Coast being the best example, I mean I would love to have an extra hard working employ who have influences in big environments that would only be beneficial for me, Werra could have easily have his place in politicsif he kept good relationship with Celeo, and what cries did Princeade about Celeo I have only heard those Na Bota na mwasi ya Muluba, and ingredients, for the rest nothing much, Prince has a beautiful voice and is a great dancer but lacks songwriting skills and powerful cries to survive in Kin's game and for that 12 on the passport, honeslty as I said before some leaders are very stupid they act likelions totheir groups but combattants and the lack of Europe concerts I think really cool them down, now they will think twice to bully people, anyway how can you be so cruel to do that to a human being? 2005/2006 was a great year for generique and album there was Fally with Droit Chemin, Werra with Sous-Sol, Koffi with Boma Nga N'Elengi (finally a lingala's name album, the album that has Skol Longitima and the Kisanola dance by Koffi) and then 2007 with Kipe Ya Yo by JB the songs of all those album till now especially the generique are way danceable, but I stay to my ground Celeo was giod but Brigade was a star in the making, after Sous Sol (even in Mayi Ya Sika which some people say it flopped some people say it is not truth that was a success) Brigade always delivered cries that stayed not like Celeo but you remember how Lelele was huge at the time and even Sima Ekoli

Wenge I understand what you are saying but Celeo had the most cries in Ça Sonne the generique of Temoignage and a lot of cries in Alerte Generale as well and his cries in Sous Sol were the most danced in Kin so I find it absurd that Werra were treating him like shit,I mean Diego despite being a weed addict and an alcoholic he is making his tenth year into the official team, and is since bis first video in Mayi Ya Sika that doesn't appear in official videos because of his state, but Diego still gets respected and get treated better than Celeo inhis time in Wenge

Like was mentioned in the CNN thread, a big reason was simply Celeo is from Bandal... «Bandal ekoya teee...» WMM and the fanbase are the worst offenders when it comes to classism and subsequent prejudices

Celeo was also lucky to go London. After some pressure from donors like Washington, etc. and his vieux Adolphe Dominguez. He missed the first concert at London because of that. Then they dumped him and went without him to Canada & USA, but his love for Wenge was to big that he went quickly to Paris when he heard that they arrived in France to perform at Villejuif. He even made a big car-accident that day. This all while people in U.K. advised him to stay and ask for Asylum. The succes of his cries in Solola Bien made him get respect.

Yes that crie was quite big even in my time (90's early 00's) and I asked my dad what the crie meant and he told me "it means, the guy who will not become a bit "orange" will not eat the New Year's eve goat"

It doesn't have something to do with Wenge. It was a trend in the whole Congolese community.
Each band has his own kuluna's. Papa Wemba used to be the boss of them, but lost interest in it after his time in prison. Those kuluna's gave Koffi's spokemen and staffmembers a hard time in Tshangu and Matonge hahahaha. Then Werrason became like their boss. Wemba was the first artist to make that term public (in the A La Une-album). That kuluna-phenomenon wasn't really strong in Kinshasa at that time. It was more in the area's Selembao and Kimbanseke were it really started with those returned Lunda-diamond traffickers.

What happened to Kene Kene? Although he had small space on albums, he still had presence whenever he was called to do animations (his cries on Wabelo Rango was my favorite).
I suppose Michel Bass is in Europe as well...the creative graveyard for so many talented artist.
