This was before the recording of Magie. After Just after winning 3 trophees at the AfriCar Awards (Africa & Caraibes) which was founded in 1991 by Consty Eka & Yves Zogbo Junior. It used to be the biggest music awards of Africa from 1991 until 1998 with Kora Awards taking over as biggest music awards of Africa until 2005. I think that it had something to do with the civil war in Ivory Coast. Because those awards were always in Abidjan except in 1994 or 1995 who were then held in Libreville. Koffi already won those awards 1992 which made him meet the wife of former Ivory Coast president Félix Houphouët-Boigny and receive alot of money.

After those awards in 1994 he went to tour in West-Africa (Senegal, Mali, Gambia, Guinee,..).
