they start interview with the story of soleil and depitcho almost figthing according to soleil who said he challenged depitcho to beat him,and he says he does not remember that but he does remember a scene where depitcho followed soleil in toilets and slapped him and he says when depitcho returned from olympia tour every of the new musicians where rushing to him to salute him like he is the leader except him and one day depitcho confronted him about the fact he was not coming to salute him and he replied to depitcho you are not koffi so why should i stand to salute you,depitcho was the chef d'orchestre and they argued and koffi called them in his office and him jordan explained and later on when depitcho was back in rehearsal koffi told him jordan that he was delighted that for once somebody can challenge depitcho because he was nightmare for other guys with his charisma and attitude and he found it funny because at first koffi was shouting at him that he had no right whatsoever to mess with depitcho so he though koffi had double face
when they arrived in quartier latin depitcho,jf ifonge and mamale were very very influential because they were the ones who came from europe and had that typical ego boost europe tours give and he reveals he missed attentat because mamale who is his younger brother from bandal told koffi that he'd run away in south africa( since he was one of the generation of street groups who made it the last in big groups) and the day of bercy in the bus taking them to airport soleil tried to get in but he was told he was not going and they arrived at airport and entered plane but koffi arrived late along with mustapha who made it on the list at last minute and female dancers but the pilot said its too late and koffi asked him do you know who i am i am koffi and the pilot replied koffi my arse koffi asked that all the musicians get out but the pilot refused and jordan reveals that they depitcho told them whoever sees koffi's face and does not try to get out of the plane will be in trouble so they all tried to hide behind seats until the plane took off and mustapha who was scared to miss bercy ran behind the plane to try to catch it
and he says once in bercy,jf ifonge arrived after just being released from jail and did not have a second pair of shoes for when they went to change so he took his by force so he had to wear another one which was so tight which is why he took it off and today he wonders why he ran across the stage while he felt big pain and ended up removing it and people screamed thinking it was part of the show while he just could not handle pain anymore
in one the concerts of bercy tour in switzerland him and depitcho arrived late because they were having a deal with donors which lasted too long and depitcho approached koffi so that he can go on stage and from koffi's response he had a feeling it would not happen so he warned jordan and indeed they did not sing koffi just allowed jordan in the dance solos while depitcho who felt the 12 coming stayed behind,and when him jordan was dancing koffi ordered him to jump into the crowd and he did it thinking it will create great buzz for him and expecting crowd to handle him like he sees in concerts of european and american artists but the crowd moved sideways and he landed awkwardly on his belly on the floor and he says thanks God his face did not touch the floor or something bad could have happen and he felt such a big pain but tried to act like all is fine and once in backstage he does not remember in which langage he cried because the pain was so big
he was asked about the famous polemic of 2001 2002 where he clashed jb mpiana hard and he says all the group did interviews with djo k except bouro and champion but some asked djo k in private to remove their parts to protect their image but him and fally went the hardest but they did that because they were young and they were trying to defend their boss and he was also at the forefront in quartier latin beef with nouvelle ecrita and he remembers when the press united to boycott koffi over marc tabu affair, there was a press conference where for once the press gave koffi a torrid time and koffi was left with no words and he popped up at that conference to distract them with his his famous slogan "eh keba keba nde " and the journalists were furious with him because for once they were winning against koffi and he spoiled it he was a bit like a suicide bomber for the group
and he goes back in the years with another anecdote involving depitcho saying they were practicing chorus and somebody was not doing his role properly and mamale turned at him and talked to him like he is the one and so did depitcho and him jordan having a strong character despite being then new in the group shouted back at depitcho dont you see that its jf who is doing that and they almost fought and koffi's brother went to inform koffi who was very happy that jordan once again confronted depitcho and actually depitcho likes that when somebody can confront him they became great friends
ado asked about how the quartier latin guys were getting along and he says it was a family but he knows fally and soleil had serious rivalry which even lead to fights between their "staffs" and after effrakata soleil remained in europe for treatment and basically left the group but as he could not cope with the lifestyle of europe he returned to africa to rejoin quartier latin but koffi loving to have his stars having beef between themselves informed fally knowing fally would be against his return and thats what happened but soleil still returned and it was very tough between him and fally and apart from the soleil fally rivalry there was a spat between bouro and fally which was nowhere near as strong as the soleil one but bouro went hard on fally and was even determined to beat him and when the big snitch of the group passe kosse went to inform koffi surprisingly koffi blamed none of them surely fearing to frustrate one of them
and if it was other musicians than them the two biggest stars they'd be in trouble
ado then asked about the "party" on the plane on the way back from USA when koffi missed the flight and he said the female dancers were so delighted to be with them for once without koffi that they started blatantly teasing them since they wanted to taste somebody other than koffi and some like bouro,lola muana to name a few had great fun with them on the plane and the musicians gave a lot of whisky to passe kosse so that he is too drunk and cant watch and snitch to koffi because the dancers are koffi's private property and he eats them for dinner breakfast and so on lol so him jordan was cautious knowing koffi would still end up hearing about it at some point so he did nothing while other guys picked the girls they wanted and had fun,and the one who shocked him was bouro(according to rumours bouro slept with three dancers in the same flight) and bouro even smoke weed on that plane and when stewards approached him he denied and even before that all the weed smokers of the group(bouro lola binda bass and co) teamed up in a hotel in atlanta before their return and smoked so hard that the whole room was full of smoke and smell and it worried the neighbors who called police fearing that something was happening and him jordan warned them that police is arriving and in no time they cleaned the room and there was no evidence of weed except smoke and smell and policeman went back since there was no legal evidence
and after that bouro was so hyped that said "i am a boss i smoke weed in united states,and policemen felt how it is in jamaica and witnessed no kaya no music" like bob marley used to say
and he reveals that at some point koffi made him become the guy in charge of discipline and koffi came late at a rehearsal and he told people to tell koffi he wont rehearse since he broke the rules and koffi went back home and was so furious that the day after he stripped him of that role whereas he just wanted to respect his role totally
he admitted that he made history in quartier latin more with his agressive antics because he was not given proper chance as a singer and even the only song he was given he got it thanks to his bold character otherwise it was not even planned at all
he talked also about dancers saying at some point even if you just looked at them you could be in trouble with koffi and it almost happened once in brazzaville with him and washington and he replied "pres you are bothering me over those girls you just have fun with at least i can understand if you say it to washington who just came" and koffi said "its ok" and he said if you wanted to get along with koffi well do your job and ignore the dancers
he says he is very grateful to koffi who allowed him to become famous,and he loves koffi a lot but he does not appreciate his behaviour and maybe koffi does not credit many of them about how they still act nice towards him until today because their career is not as great as fally's so he feels talking about them will create no buzz but they love him and want him to last long because he is the remaining super legend
he remembered when kester visited koffi at grand hotel in the days of maisha park and koffi was unhappy that he sang that much kester songs and said to him that he was a undercover officer of kester and he was surprised with koffi's reaction since he justed wanted to show another great star who is kester that they listen to his music and kester himself said to him "petit frere it seems nkovia was not happy about you singing my songs so easily" and the day of concert koffi decided he wont go on stage unless he calls him which he would not have done and sent fally to inform him and fally said "boss you have to tell him yourself" and when kester arrived he went on stage on his own and said he was ready for anything and koffi tried to tell him through signs to leave the stage but he ignored koffi and koffi sent spokesman texas katadi and he threatened to leave after texas tried to calm him down and koffi's uncle recé called him and he explained that situation that koffi tried to trick him and he went home
and he left the group later on valentines day, they sang until koffi arrived and he was not allowed on stage and when they started riziki fally told him to come on stage and koffi turned to block him with his hand and pushed montana in the movement and him being agile still managed somehow to crawl or something until the microphone of asso and fally looked at asso and asso understood he had to leave the mic and after the song he told fally "i am leaving your group" and fally said stop joking and he went bold in going through the crowd to head out of venue and went in his car and left the group like that
it was on valentines day of 2005 so when koffi says he fired out because of lack of ability he lies
he also said that jf was so influential and full of character that he even threatened to beat koffi at some point and also talked about when heritier decided to visit quartier latin at rehearsal in the peak of the conflict of both groups,and when heritier arrived along with cambodge who had then joined maison mere thanks to him most of the singers were unhappy especially fally who he had beef with well before that,and he said on the mic to heritier that nobody will touch him seeing how hostile was the reception towards heritier and thats the day he understood that heritier is also a "boss" like him because arriving at rehearsal of rival group and going back with nobody touching you( and nobody bothering you in maison mere either) its not everybody who can do that

Lol. I loved this interview too. Such characters are important in any group or setup... The part were Koffi and Fally were arguing over who should tell Jordan that he is not happy because Jordan knew Kester's songs. "Yo oyébi nzembo tout ya king Kester". ;D

Wait I missed that part. Koffi would actually abandon people in Europe? I'm starting to think that story of Koffi being surprised to find Jordan on the way to Bercy must be true.

I read that Mustapha left because of Gypson using nkisi against him. Gypson felt insecure about his place in the group so long as Mustapha was around, because Mustapha ahead of him in terms of singing ability and was the perfect tenorist for choruses.
The same situation would happen two years later when Papy Jah from Extra Musica would attempt to join QL, with Gypson resorting to those tricks to secure his spot.

the reason of the end of quartier latin integral was sad,cnn even seemed emotional and full of regret with it the way him and lebou got fooled by people

Agreed, but I would have encouraged Koffi to take someone else instead of Jordan Kusa to Bercy of 2000 if I was around then lol. Even though Lola Muana's inconsistency annoyed me, I can't imagine anyone else interpreting his parts especially in Effrakata.

The problem is that cnn who is the co founder of the group and who came with a lot of mungala-donors left due to people gossiping to him and lebou leading to cold war then went to bcbg for 2 months via alain mpela who shared the same donors then when they had to go back to kin to get mirage guelor and co to europe those staffs gossiped again to lebou while cnn was taking the risk of not coming back since he did not have european papers then by going to kinshasa then having to look for his own visa in a difficult period of ngulu affair and those people around lebou organized that cnn's guys in kinshasa are not allowed in rehearsals even before he arrived so he got hurt because like a said above most of the support backing integral was his donors from equateur region so since koffi was in kin and he did not have yet plan of his group( which would later be the group vastly inherited by jf ifonge,cousteau mopiwi,arc en ciel bikorino and co) so he went back to koffi so that he could fulfill his desire to have three albums recorded in latino and go back to europe safely

Was the intent of Koffi to accept them fully in the group or just for Monde Arabe? Because I know he lost a lot of musicians after the first recording session in June of 2004, like Ramazani and Fo Fo Colligen.

Oh you caught that too at the end. It one of those revelations that completely destroys a historical storyline. It probably was not a wise financial decisions for the very young members who bought just to show off and taunt rivals

Those who had the chance to put songs in group-albums bought it through money they received or the amount of mabanga they during the tour. Others were getting it as a gift from donors/fans who were stealing it for them. Buying cars for +18 bandmembers as bandleaders is to expensive, espcially if you have projects to build “ba Palais” and two new cars. Alot of people don’t also known that Koffi didn’t even pay them for Bercy and the 9 months they spend abroad. Mamale opbelt complained about that, a journalist asked him about in the “Mokonzi” VHS but he denied and said that Koffi would give them gifts (which wasn’t true). Maybe that Koffi was still furious and didn’t forget it and punished him by leaving him behind in the next tour.

HAHA bro do you know that once fally and jipson after bercy followed ferre and made sure to park their cars in a way that ferre cant get out and ran away counting on jordan to defend them if there is trouble,and ferre called one of his guys maitre moussa to bring another of his cars and they moved and in the night celeo to defend ferre went at nightclub and recognized fally's car before entering and did the same to fally and fally called jordan to come quickly when he got alerted and it ended up in a fight until celeo shouted "ya chris" and jordan replied "serge" and they hugged ,maybe because they heard police had arrived :D :D :D :D
i remember in cultura trips some of the guys left because they were upset,they really believed leaders bought cars for their friends so they were angry that wazekwa told them openly that he cant buy cars for them all but he can afford fret for them if they deal with their donors to buy them cars

I already said that but nobody believed me. Even those cars of Wenge Maison Mere in 1999. Those who had the chance to put songs in group-albums bought it through money they received or the amount of mabanga they during the tour. Others were getting it as a gift from donors/fans who were stealing it for them. Buying cars for +18 bandmembers as bandleaders is to expensive, espcially if you have projects to build “ba Palais” and two new cars. Alot of people don’t also known that Koffi didn’t even pay them for Bercy and the 9 months they spend abroad. Mamale opbelt complained about that, a journalist asked him about in the “Mokonzi” VHS but he denied and said that Koffi would give them gifts (which wasn’t true). Maybe that Koffi was still furious and didn’t forget it and punished him by leaving him behind in the next tour.
Those cars after Bercy were a way to counter Wenge Maison Mere (like the way Maison Mere did that to counter Wenge BCBG). Most wanted a car to prove rivals of other bands a point and fight over girls. After those tours (1999-2003) you had always those confrontation of bandmembers against each others in Lemba, Bandal & Kasa-Vubu. I remember Celeo even following a girl-dancer of Academia with his motorcycle.
I always wondered how the band leaders could even afford to buy the musicians all their cars. Yes about Koffi not paying them after Bercy Depitcho and Jf even said that in that interview after they left. When musicians were touring in Europe and weren’t even getting paid how did they live? Or where did they even live?

yeah, if you watch Werra's press conference in London in 2000, to promote and mobilize people for his Bercy-show, he asked people if they could forgive his musicians for the way things went wrong (sleeping with the children of people who were feeding them or their wives).

I remember Baby Ndombe once saying that Werrason was sending them to sleep with old women (Mère Evélyne Ngongolo "loketo pètè", Pépé Akundji, Christiana Kwassa, etc.) to get money.

@CM Prince - Unfortunately I know of a few cases (there are many) where some of the most known donors and supporters in Poto that would offer their teenage and young adults daughters to leaders first, then through the ranks of the band to show how much they “support” their artists.
All the big gen 5 artists have embarrassing stories of gigalo acts with the famous mères na poto back in their beginnings
