This band, SOUKOUS EXPRESS did its thing in the 90s. It took me a while to know that these dudes were Antillais. They ranked in the Dr. Sakis, Dany Engobo type soukous , but regardless they stuck to soukous instead of Zouk.

Is this what is commonly called Culture reappropriation?

Does anyone know who their soloist is?

It shows how influent Soukous/Ndombolo used to be in the French West-Indies. So sad that Koffi, Wenge, etc weren’t interresed to perform there. They could have it their thrid base next to Africa and Europe.

I hope that were will be a donor in the future, who could create a band that only plays Ndombolo.I’m starting to miss those real sebenes, not those of today who are all the same.
