I knew that Academia had a huge succes in Kinshasa when they came, but I'm really surprised to see that they also performed outside of Palais du Peuple in front of a big crowd like Werrason, J.B. Mpiana and Marie Paul. I tought that they only performed inside of it in Palais des Congres. No wonder that they became big headed and that those egowars started quickly. What if they also performed at Stade Tata Raphael... ? Even Koffi hadn't that huge succes in Kinshasa.
I think that Somono "Le Grand Magicien" had also some connections hahahahaha

Did Koffi ever perform at Palais du Peuple and Cinemax?

Yes, he performed at Palais du Peuple in the past, but that was inside for VIP-concerts. He also performed at Cinemax who were easier to fill for him then Stade des Martyrs, Stade de Tata Raphael or l'Esplanade de Palais du Peuple. I remember him having an interview with Lolo Milolo back in 2000 with her asking why he don't perform Stade des Martyrs and l'Esplanade de Palais du Peuple and only focus on performing at Bercy, Olympia and Zenith. With Koffi giving the reason he wouldn't get engough money. But everybody knew that it would hard for him to fill those places and that his public was more the diaspora and the elite of Kinshasa. Back in 1999 after having that big mpiaka at Stade des Martyrs, he said in private that he would never ever perform there. He would seek for revenge in 2002, but people claimed then that he performed for free and that he was lucky to have big support from Werrason. With King Kester Emeneya, JB Mpiana and Academia recording interviews to attack him.
I think that Koffi's most succesful year in Kinshasa was 2002 with him starting to give alot of open-air concerts and performing even in poor area's like Masina.
