Rercording a song is one thing but performing it is a whole other. Atalakus can be really impressive on CDs and in video clips but what is to you the best atalaku PERFORMANCE on the internet.

For me it would have to be Robert Ekokota in Ave Maria at their perfomance in belgium I believe in the early part of the 90s. At minute 3:40 Ekokota starts his animation and that part always gave me the chills and probably always will be. I remember to this day my first time stumbling upon that video and being like woah.
I actually heard that live version first before listening to the CD version and ended up being pretty dissapointed because the energy wasnt the same.

The concert was in 1992. It was their first concert after spending 1 year in Kinshasa.
I hate the way they recorded Pleins Feux, they messed the whole album up by using programmed drums which made those sebenes sound weak. I'm happy that they recorded the most songs of Kalayi Boeing live, I think that the sebene of C'est Trop Tard Djenga would have sounded better if they recorded it live. Because in concerts it was sounding amazing, giving you then the impression that Makaba is the best solist in the world, but on the album it sounded not special.

I wonder how Kalayi Boeing would have been if Makaba didn't stay in Europe after the recordings of Kin E Bouge. He messed it a little bit up for his friends by doing that.
Ekokota had a lot power. He and Makaba formed a dangerous duo. I remember him animating on Jessy Chouchou des Londres with Makaba on the lead in a concert at Palladium or Palais du Peuple (I don't remember) and I had something like wow, with him then adding those new animations like Moto and Niama Ngwaku. His best perfomance on cd was for me the Anges Adorables-album. Its sounded like he gave all his energy on that album, espcially on Hi Ho Ha New Image. I was excepting to hear the same power in concerts for the animations he did in Anges Adorables, but it was like he calmed down and Tutu Calugi then adding new animations like nazo bela maman and bebeto yambi which was good but not like Ekokota was putting alot energy on the mic.

For me the best atalaku performance in a concert is Koffi's Bercy. For me they didn't need Ocean, CNN could animate the whole concert by himself like the way Mboshi did in Olympia. I wonder how CNN & Kerozene would have sound together as a duo. I heard that both animating on Heritier Afula's generique, but that was not a real duo. It sounded like two different generiques.

@mvulusi96 very very agree with you, the best performance of Ekokota was on the Anges Adorables-album but I liked too much his performance on Kaskin, it was fireeeeee.

For me it would have to be this duet in Djodjo Ngonda live at Bataclan vol.1. with then Ekokota and Callugi improvising at 19:36 minutes with that "ehe ehe ehe".
