I’ve always said my favourite Kibens vocal is from Papito Remix I really like his vocal there. But damn! How his voice has gone down and changed a lot in recent years.

The first change happened when he was advised by papa wemba to change the way he sang and leave a bit that kester breath technique then i think the other reason would be that the guy missed zero concert since he was never suspended for 21 years straight,unless you have exceptional discipline or exceptional ability your voice surely will be affected with that rythm of concerts,especially the last 4 years where bcbg something had concerts from tuesday to sunday with no day off

Not only him, but also Genta, JDL, Chai (before he left) and Rio had a worsening of their voice one of the few of the odl guard who can still sing are Fudji and Zulema, I don't know why the "administratuon" lost the voice.

Ahaha Genta has missed 5 concerts maximum in 21 Years.
JDL's voice does not change too much because he "whispers" ahaha
But Rio and Chai had a worsening of their voice... For Rio, when will he realize his plan to assist Pastor Walesa ?

Becauae JB unlike other leaders rewards loyalty, Kibens, JDL and Rio have been important for JB a loooot outside music and in JB's mind if you are a good guy and a good singer he can keep you forever (like Taty Nsambi or Cellulaire)

like manzambi said its a way for jb to thank them for a lot of things they did for him,but he knows their limits very well
all three have plan b but they wait on the right moment,rio and kibens wish they could become pastors but refuse to self proclaim it,jdl openly said in an interview he has desire to be a leader one day but when he'll feel ready he'll inform jb and they'll part company peacefully,he wants to get his whole family back to kinshasa if he were to start solo career but his wife and kids disagree
by the way out of topic a bit for the first time in ages jb has been a bit ruthless, in a group reunion he assisted via video few days ago he openly confronted the group about dancing and energy on stage and said to them its not normal that him the millionaire and who has the least to prove among them all dances better than 99 per cent of the band at 52 years old and had a bit of a go at nono fudji who for him had a golden opportunity to be the second star of the band but instead went too comfortable,gained quite some weight,so dances with less energy and is having voice issues and he decided that from now on there will be an additional day of rehearsal fully destined to dancing from 8 of the morning to 8 of the evening,in order to fix things because it can continue like that

I wonder what Congolese music will look like ten years from now? Outside of the boys born in the late 1970s and 80s, the only ones making noise is Heritier, Fally, and Ferre.
