to succeed in solo career you have to have donors like when you are in a group but also you have to be surrounded with "music people"(arrangers,producers,managers and so on) and it has to be the moment God has chosen for you
and that sometimes musicians when they start getting much success in groups they believe it makes them capable automatically of handling solo career,and he gives example of aimelia who in bcbg after huge success of zenith olympia became very very difficult to handle because he started seeing himself like a second jb,and that sadly famous accident which got dancer patricia paralysed was caused by him breaching the group's order to go in a bus with drivers who did not watch concert and were fresh and full of energy,and prefered to go on his own with dancers patricia and miette,driven by a guy who followed the whole concert and surely drank and was not as fit and aware as the bus driver
he also reveals that once in another canada tour,they got informed of alain mpela's relatives making interviews to attack jb and alain himself, and alain pondered to stop his career and he saw alain mpela for the first time crying,and alain went to see jb who was also crying because he was fearing to lose alain mpela who he saw like a member of his family literally and kibens stormed in and said "both of you are my chiefs but now i am going to talk to you like my younger brothers you are outside music,and he said to jb why does he cry for alain mpela its like he does not trust the rest of the group and he talked to alain mpela aswell
and he say alain mpela also left boosted by his popularity in the group surely thinking it would work wonders for him as a leader since he surely the most influential chef d orchestre we have seen in these last 20 years but he believes alain did not anticipate things in the long run,because he clearly has all attributes to succeed
he was asked why he does not go solo and he says everybody has his destiny and he is not the type of guys who compares himself to other guys,everybody has his destiny,or his vision or his projects,for example him unlike many other artists wishes to become one day in any possible way at full service of God,since he has had enough time to enjoy life but its not something you can start on your own God has to decide its the moment
he says he was meant to sing pakadjuma with ferre as ferre asked for jb's authorization so that outside some chorus he co leads a song with him but it did not happen because the day meant for him recording his parts coincided with bcbg taking a flight to kenya then ferre finished song on his own since he was also very busy so they could not be free at the same time but hopefully one day they'll do it,because for him ferre is the best singer of their generation of the 1970's and he has no problem admitting it despite ferre being younger than him
and he was asked to react to chai saying they did not get opportunity to get european papers because of jb,and rio reacted giving some names of people who had european papers in bcbg and says in general the musicians who crave for european papers while working in kin are those who had solo ambitions and it was never his case otherwise he'd have it easy to get it since almost every of his kids are either french or british

I think Aimelia becoming "big headed" was as result of that "Le Commandant de la Separation" that JB would praise him with.
But how did Chai Ngenge with all his long stay in BCBG fail to utilise the opportunity to get long term European papers? Was he expecting someone to do it on his behalf or because he never saw himself as wanting to be in europe at some point? Because am pretty sure that given his good relationship with Papa Cheri while in BCBG, European papers shouldn't have been a big issue.
