I think Wemba would've kept making music if he was still alive, but he'd tone down the frequency.

From 2008, Papa Wemba was focusing more on his family and slowly retiring. I think that he would still be alive if there wasn't a concert-ban in Europe. You can't live if you are performing only in Kinshasa. You will get max. 1000 dollars and if you are lucky 1500 dollarsvip-concert as bandleader at GHK, but that is if you are on top, imagine what someone would earn who's already over the top. Papa Wemba was only making money from his concerts outside DR Congo, matolo, royalties and some little business.Papa Wemba was performing every week at Freebox in Kinshasa, but nobody was coming. He wanted to perform concerts with his world-music band Molokai in Europe to get some money and release his world album Kemafumbe, but wasn't able to do that because of the combattans. He was even saying that on tv, adding also that he wasn't able to pay the bills of his house in Paris. The combattans were mocking him on internet about that, but the same guys (Zorobilel, Babin Masombo, Maman Kongo, Papy Volcanetc.) came to his mourning in Paris and made even some interviews about him.
