Don't know about Lacoste, i find his voice so irritating. For me, Ferre, Cafe Roum, Merlin Bouton, ,Adjani ,Serge Mabiala and Aimelia have been the top then second grade singers have been the likes of Taddet,Miel and others. I do not know most of the new fellas since i rarely watch concert videos these days but i have seen a couple of chaps from Ferre's band and Victoria Eleison now in Maison Mere,they are fairing well.

For me, it was a good introduction that he sings alone.

Lacoste voice is good for chorus. That is why you won't find a young musician trying to imitate his voice, you can come across countless of Ferre, Adjan and Mabiala Imitators but not Lacoste
