Shakira (with JLO as co-performer) had Dally Kimoko’s guitar licks from Soukous Star’s Gozando played, which left me pleasantly shocked. It seems with every passing day the impact of Congolese music continues to grow.

Good to hear this ndeko. Legendary work shall remain to inspire. When Kanda Bongoman and Mbilia Bell performed here in Nairobi last year November, I was shocked at the reception they got from the crowd that is mostly made up of millennials. Majority of people who attend Koroga festival are millennials and I was afraid they would not love the whole show. Many of the musicians today have no time and patience to put out legendary work.
