Are they really tests?
Yes and no. Basically the artist or musician gets tested already in private at home or at reharsals and then gets presented officially to La Zamba Playa to get "tested" officially, if the public agrees or goes crazy like in Roi David case the musician stays if not the musician is out, but this formula is recent Kapaya, Celeo, Bill and many of the old guard weren't tested, of course because they were with the original Wenge BCBG first. It is like the American Idol but with a single group doing it instead of a TV Show there are plenty of example that I can link

As A Maison Mere fan I have never understood the hype on Bercy Mwana. I admit that in hearing the trailer of Fleche Ingeta I thought Bill was back doing a feat with Werra but beside that amd of course his creativity (I mean Decollage is like 8 o 9 minues of Bercy cries who partecipte in all of the generique in that album) he is not this great of a guy he is like a less talented Arafat of Congo-Brazza, and that reaction from the crowd knowing the s*** that Bercy does it has to be spiritual, Prince actually was never an Atalaku so him getting humiliated was irrelevant since he was a dancer first and an Atalaku second about Lobeso I think his demise was always want to bring that Mongo kind of style on a group that is fast pace and make fast pace music his identity like Wenge, and unfortunately him being so much involved and proud of coming from the village wasn't good too since Congolese people hate seeing that thing of people coming from the village. Even though Fally.made it cool for a bit with Elok'Oyo
