i will always say that views do not necessarily mean quality of music, but thats a nice milestone for a 23 year old guy
hopefully him and other congolese artists continue to make efforts we need a strong congolese music again,not a bunch of congolese managing self representation among fellow african stars

exactly brother,one of my dreams for our music is at least one common dance again,there is no better boost to african music than that,see what ghana nigeria music became with azonto and co,a popular dance as a stepping stone to now each come with various dances
with us,even those who get along well are ashamed to do it,while it could be a proper reference to put congo back where it belongs on african map and not the odd "this guy from congo" like it is nowadays

Yeah you’re right we need a dance and crie like Ndombolo, Kiwanzenza (ma kilima), Kisanola again to be back on the map and our artists to stop focusing so much on rhumbas because it’s clearly not working, 9 times out of 10 they end up promoting their Generiques more than their rhumba’s because they want their dance and crie to go viral.

Hmmmmmm Innosss I always knew he was capable to do it number one artist in Africa bringing Congolese togheter as a BaKongo I am proud a young MuSwahili is having this much success. Innoss keep going who cares about the haters they hate you because they can't be you bro no Congolese has 100 m views but I bet Fally will stay suuuuuuuper silent about it

Like what's the reason, what's the gain?
I mean a lot of views mean good exposure but whether the views gets more Likes than dislikes is another thing. But why are views that important?

Lool no way. I am not checking anything to do with that guy.
People said they won't pay attention to him but controversy sells. I don't even pay attention to anything he does.

It's simple. Bragging rights. Congolese artists and their fans like to 1-up and throw shots at each other, so they use views as a topic of debate. This debate usually involves 'x has more overall views than y, your argument is invalid' or something along the lines.

I wouldn't care either is Fally who made it all about views, I remarked that because Innoss get slept on by Congolese media, if Fally did this you would hear bilionamd bilionof journalist talking about Fally as a genius the best artist of his generation etc. But a young 23 year old do it, and no one talk about him because even people that like him are scared of the comsequences (Fallout with Fally)

He doesn't count he bought 100 milion of views from India so, it doesn't coumt but at the same time his strategy worked

what surprises me is overall the way comparison is made in congolese music,i think werra and jb have spoilt people from the moment jb did palais du peuple and werra came later to "correct him" while two artists can succeed each in his way,in different paths or on different aspects but no in DRC like for like or nothing(which caused people suddenly realising for example how big papa wemba and kester were when they died because they had stop giving them the same respect when they could not give like for like to koffi anymore)
from that moment,among others before and after,fans think those they see as rival always have to have like for like achievements
this is how the views became a trend if i am not mistaken it started with fally(at some point,not from the start of his solo) then heritier hyping the views of BM then it became more and more installed in people's mind that your song can only be a success if it has over the million of views,first and more recently the million by a certain time in recent months,and on the flipside it had make people respect some sub par songs just because it has views
so in the case of innoss people were saying he cant compare himself to fally because fally makes more views, which is whysome of those who like innoss and some who dont fancy fally are like " see? the little boy has shut you up after you belittled him"
and fally's fans coming with but "it did views just because of diamond" and him he countered with "but i am not the first to do feat with artist who'd boost me"...and it makes much more headlines than the fact that the guy has managed to make a hit with advices,which has very rarely happened of late

The only problem is that this is now used to diss each other, but overall views do matter most these days, its a way of keeping track of your market and how influential you are....... Plus if you take a good look, every good song has more views

Yes but at the same time it doesn't count with that I mean that you get less money from YouTube Views (I am talking about free views not YouTube Music the streaming service) in confront of Spotify and Apple Music I mean I would prefer to have a 100 milion views on Spotify and 50 milionom Youtube by the way how is Yo Pe doing on Spotify?

He really deserves some credit cause personally I trust him on international collabo more than any other artist from Congo (Fally, Fabro, Ferre etc) they always have their atalakus singing for them on their hit songs and they cant make them part of they feats........ That's why most of the times an international ft with Congolese musicians is boring (even concerts where they go alone....... They look like clowns dancing to the generique alone on stage e.g (Fally is horrible on 80 % international fts and these concerts where he goes by himself, its so embarrassing (Afrima, Bet, Caf etc)
