Stephie "Golden Star" was a reissue of the 'Rue D'Amour' album that came out in 1987.

And if you take Kin e bouge and Gerant, these albums are better recorded that a lot of albums of today

90-91 were great years. Can’t forget Les Prisoners Dorment one of the top albums of that year that was released very late ’90.

Kin é Bouge - the album that singe-handedly changed the course of the genre

Maby I remember sounded very futuristic at the time with the sound just like Kin é Bouge recorded in the same studio. Shout out to the producers Sans Frontiers. Sounded like something from the year 2000

Gerant was multi-continental success - Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. The sound is still fresh

Exactly. I was born in mid 2000s, when I first heard Maby I thought it was from the early 2000s. I didn't know too much about OK jazz then

Are there also other classic albums who were produced by tour-promoter Kokar Masakuba's recordlabel Sans Frontiers ? Kokar made alot of money from Kin E Bouge, back in those days JB Mpiana & Werrason didn't know alot about royalties, until that Nyoka Longo adviced them to become member of SABAM or SACEM. I heard that like Jose Kapesa, Kokar used to scam Congolese artists alot during those short-europe tours of the 90s.

Kokar is also the producer of Josky Kiambukuta's solo album "Chandra", "Selengina" by Josky, Serge Kiambukuta and Ntesa and the medley Cesser le feu by Lengi Lenga.

You are right about that. Kin  E Bouge is one of the albums with the best enginering work in Congolese music. In spite of that technology developed a lot since then, there were lots of poorer mixes than on that album. Enginners should listen to that album before they start mixing.
