Good interview...Rio has always been one of my favorite. Down to earth guy and very humble. Met him when I was younger; he actually came over our place during their stop in Montreal.
Looking forward to his song in B2M...love the Tshiluba part he sang.

Of the Magic quarter only JDL misses, Ado had KIBENS, Seguin and now Rio, I bet JDL interview will be fake as hell.

I like Rio as a person. In his interviews he comes across quite likeable and just a calm guy, unlike his friend Kibens who’s just arrogant with his french and always boasting. I didn’t rate him much because of the way he sang, he sounded like such a woman, but he’s alright.
He exaggerated about Aimelia refusing to give him his mic at concerts and Alain giving Chai his mic, because if you watch all the concerts after Blaise’s departure in 1999 there was 5 mics and 3 of them were Jb’s, Alains and Aimelia who were never ever leaving their positions. The whole Zenith and Olympia, Alain and Aimelia never changed positions.
It was always the 5th mic that Chai and Rio were fighting over. Because there were a concerts in Kin before Zenith for example on Cinemax where Rio sang.
So for him to say no one knew who he was when they came back from Zenith is an exaggeration come on man.
One thing that he said and that I agree with is everytime guys leave Bcbg and accuse the old guards of unsettling them, Rio’s name is never mentioned, it’s always Kibens, Jdl, Seguin and sometimes Chai’s fault.
He also indirectly threw Kibens, Seguin and JDL under the bus, by saying those guys are too buddy buddy with JB, so that’s why they have so much power to do those things.

yeah i think he did not express that part well,in the past he was talking about it and saying he performed a bit in kinshasa but he was not known so those who saw him at zenith "out of nowhere" though he came from europe
that being said it was funny to hear him interpret aimelia in the first martyrs the difference of style was sooo blatant so it sounded like rio was destroying the vocals while its not his fault
indeed rio is a proper nice guy except from the artistic side with kibens role,he's by far the most appreciated by the younger guys you'll see him for example having around a lot fusée who is barely older than his first children

I like Aimelia, but Ado won't put him in his place. Aimelia will find a way to dodge the allegations, for example Soleil has been exposed of being a bully by 95% of former QL musicians who went on Ado's show from guys like Jordan Kusa all the way to Mineurs like Deplick and Rolly Mayemba and so on. Ado brought Soleil back to answer the allegations and he just dodged every single one and started playing victim.
So I don't think Aimelia will admit to anything and Ado will just sit in silence and then put his head down and do that long sigh and then ask the producers to bring the cake and cocktail lol.

jdl was just returning from europe i think and it coincided with him losing his sister who the information i got is right had been battleing illness for long so of course he had to mourn

Another thing I realised is ehhh Heritier was fearless, he really started a fight with Richard Mukena at a club who was twice the size of him, and also started a fight with Ferre at a club too.

heritier has always liked to build an image of two opposites,the guy from the hood who went through struggle with an absent father bu at same time the guy who studied with children of most of the congolese elite because his mum was always hustleing to put him in same schools as them

yes and he has the reputation from some people who studied with him that i know that he was so good in class that he was even helping people from classes above,but his last years of high school were troubled first by his year in bcbg then his time in maison mere,he started failing classes once or twice then managed to get his diploma one year before double zenith

Wata is indeed a thug but this persona comes from his time in Maison mere. Werra connections were indispensable to him police chiefs or army commanders would look the opposite way if he did something. He’s really a spoiled brat sometimes but also humble in some cases

One of my cousins studied with Heritier and he told me that Heritier is actually quite intelligent, but during his time in Maison Mere when my cousin would see him around at times he would act really arrogant and a douche sometimes just like you'd see on TV.

Rio says here that they gave only Chai and Kibens the chance to put a vocal before TH, but he forgot that he had also a vocal in Papito Mbala. Looks like all musicians want to play the victim in Ado's show, to get sympathy from the public.

I was waiting on Rio's reaction to Spino's saying that he knew JB in Kananga along with Rio & Alba.
I think that Heritier would have ended up like the leate Reagan if JB decided him to bring to Zenith. Rio forgot that Heritier was also present at Mamie Ilela's show, when JB announced that he would perform at Zenith.
Lol, Kibens lied about the sound of Zenith. Alba Accompagnero also said like Rio, 2 or 3 years ago at Ado's show that before Zenith that they went to Brazzaville, Pointe Noire, Douala and Yaounde for some shows as a test for Zenith and that Simon Ndjonang hired sound enigeers from Germany to work for with them for the shows in Douala & Yaounde, to know their tactics. Btw when they were in Cameroun Alba hadn't still received his visa for France.
That sounds really ignorant, the way Makaba talked to Kibens about their Zenith-repetoire and wanting to chance it. What made Makaba not rehease with BCBG in Kinshasa? Was still made about what happened in Kinshasa or went the succes to his head or was it that he taught that they would prepare it the way Wenge 4x4 came in Europe in 1992, 1995 & 1996 at La Madeleine and him just joining them. Titina was cool to still insert him in the show, despite not having prepared it with them. I always taught that JB sended Alain Mpela to gave Makaba the order to not enter the stage until almost the end of the show, that made him apparently more furious (the version that was spread on the streets).
