Papy Kaniama was a talented solist. How old is Djino Liaki ? Because Papy is here saying that he joined Laviniora Esthetique along with him in 1991. I'm surprised to hear that my cousin Collegien is one of the guys that taught him playing guitar. Lemba used to be an area of intellectuals. So which made it hard for most to support their band, seeing them as thugs, compared to those of "quartiers chaud" like Matonge, Yolo, K-V, Kintambo, Ngiri-Ngiri and Bandalungwa.
I guess that Werrason taught that Ali Mbonda would already run away, which made him wanted to get Tokyo of Lavionora Esthetique, in that era mbonda-players were always running away when coming in Europe. With Patient on the rhythm, Burkina Faso & Maitre Fi-Carre both sharing mi-solo and the lead-guitar and Alain Makaba being in Europe, I don't see how Papy Kaniama would get space after Wenge's return in 1994. Really stupid move from Tokyo to get him and Papy in El Paris, I wonder what was going in Werra's head when seeing both guys at front of Kongolo's house, while they taught that he was in Europe. Was Bogus also about to join Wenge 4x4 ?
I always thought it was Otis Lumumba on the rhythm during those Solola Bien concerts in Kinshasa. When did Otis Lumumba join btw ? Kusangila's stroke shortly after Stade des Martyrs 2000 was a blessing in disguise for Papy Kaniama getting all the space on the rhythm-guitar until Kusangila recovered just before Bercy. I think that Papy would have gone to Europe if Burkina Faso didn't join. That would have been humilating for Papy, seeing his petits of Bandal (Flamme, Celeo, Fally,) going multiple times to Europe and him still being in Kinshasa. Really sad that bass-player Fiston died. What did become of Edino? I have never heard of him and didn't know that he was in Maison Mere & Tonya Tonya. I only knew Fiston. In all VHS of 2000 that I saw of Maison Mere, I only saw Mimiche playing bass and I had never seen Fiston again since he joined.
Papy Kaniama did a good job as rhythm-player. He's one of the many examples of talented musicians that lacked patience. Tonya Tonya already got a visa for him and was about to tour in Europe, but he prefered to follow Dakumuda who wanted to get him in Europe. If Dakumuda's operation to get him as ngulu in Europe didn't work, then his career would have been finished. If it was Werra, he wouldn't have allowed him to play rhythm at Olympia. Maybe it was another blessing, because bandleader in that time would receive visa's for their musicians, but them prefering to leave some behind and letting ngulu's go in their place.

djino liaki is 50 this year,yes bogus could have joined as a backup but his family was against and also it was better for jb and werra to keep him providing songs and vocals in private
otis join in the transition between solola bien kibuisa double zenith,the same generation as marchouse mayindombe mayi ya kwilu and co but he was in the group already in private working with the atalakus and doing sometimes "dechiffrage" of songs with flamme at werra's house

Mayi ya kwilu, I've never heard of him. Did you also have a mayi ya Kwango, lol ? It's sad that Mayi ya Ndombe had a proper chance as a lead-guitarist in Maison Mere, while he was recruited to replace Burkina Faso. Why apart Mogratana, did many solists recruited between 2001 to 2006 like Kojack and Corean Polystar never get the chance to play lead ?

HAHA both mayindombe and mayi ya kwilu were recruited from bandundu and were short like mbokaliya and ended up creating for flamme i think its because of the dimension flamme took both spiritually in the group and artistically it was very hard for anybody to get a chance even in tests there has been wayyyy more soloist tried when flamme was off than when he was around

What did become of Mayi ya Kwilu?
Musika-sika said that alot guitarists were scared of Flamme, because he would come sometimes barefoot to la Zamba Playa, sometimes he would talk to himself like he was possessed and he used to tie rats to his guitar.
