Loool it’s different from his IG live one where he was more laid back. Mirage had such a good start with his first album where people were already putting him behind Fally and Ferre.

This is why I said none of this would’ve happened if Depitcho or Sam were still around the group, because most guys respected them and they had the balls to say what’s what and they had that older brother role authority, whilst Fally not saying he was soft but he wasn’t direct like they were.
I remember the rumours of Fally joining Maison Mère me and my some of my family members were scared at that possibility, haha even on those skyblogs they photoshopped Fally’s head in the Alerte Générale Cover by replacing Roi David

yeah fally without being a snitch like kakol or seguin was like them more focused on pleasing the boss and dealing with him( and feeling special in that he could hang with koffi in private situations and even in studio only them two )than handling the second leader type like depitcho alain mpela or sam for example
i think the absence of jordan in the very last moments of that generation also played a role,he was the oldest of them and with that big presence of his and character,he was involved in solving a lot of conflicts

This interview was all over the place story wise. He kept going off topic at times, like he’s NEVER revealed why he really left QL because really and truly he was actually the first to run away, because he disappeared after one concert in Brussels then we didn’t see him after. He needs to just admit why he left.

I lost 103 minutes of live by watching this interview. Everything he said could easily been said in 30 minutes, but he had to go often off-topic and praise himself. Lol, he's blaming Binda Bass and Felly Tyson, but they all performed concerts of that tour (from Stockholm to Elysee Montmarte), Binda even returned to Kinshasa, but he Mirage ran away performing in Brussels.
Lol, he says that 100 dollars wasn't engough as salary. But he didn't even record an album with them at that time and wasn't a Fally, Beniko Popolipo, Sam Tshintu, Ferre Gola or Champion to earn 300 dollars, he didn't even had children. I forget that musicians of Quartier Latin were even paid better than people who work for the office in Kinshasa. How can you pay your musicians 1000 or 1800 dollars when concerts in Kinshasa are just peannuts ? That's impossible when you have more than 30 musicians and people working in the administration. Many people and musicians themselves forget that easily. They only realize that when form their own band in Kinshasa. I really doubt that Alain Mpela and Lebou Kabuya were even paying him. There were many musicians who sang better than Mirage and joined Quartier Latin, but were bullied or became suddenly sick and then left, but Mirage is acting like he was the best singer of earth. I don't like people who act like that.
About him talking towards the end of having participated to concerts of Lyon, Elysee Montmarte in 2007 and Apocalyps and Fally not being happy with that made me think what Olivier Tshimanga said about Mirage in his interview with Ado Yuhe. Saying "babwakeli ye eloko ya mabe" after releasing his first album.

Olivier Tshimanga just said in his interview with Ado Yuhe that Mirage was acting strange when they were about to record his second album (Veni, Vidi, Vici) that never came out, saying that he wasnt listening to him, changing the artistic direction without informing and him understanding that they did something to him.
Back in autumn 2007, Mirage released his album Figure de Style which was a huge succes. But in the same period Koffi came with Les Mineurs for a short tour, but they didnt receive enough visa's which made him add musicians like Junior Kingombe, Jipson Butukondolo, Fofo le Collegien, Mirage Supersonic. But Fally Ipupa, Apocalyps and many others not being happy with Mirage participating to these concerts, because he started to have succes. On the same time there was a contract for Bracongo (Skol) waiting for him with a villa, but Mirage couldn't go back to promote his album properly because of not having papers.

Yeah Mirage returning for the 2007 tour hurt his momentum a little bit, but lol Apocalypse was upset at Mirage but he was also present during that tour. Mirage should’ve just gone back to Kin after his album came out, Europe wasn’t going anywhere, he could’ve found another way to go back to Europe through contracts and so on.

I found that strange aswel...you just went solo and had a successful album on the market but you go accompany your old boss as a normal musician in uniform eh.

Yeah. Bill Clinton didn't had papers when he went back Ferre to form Les Marquis aile Kinshasa which went wrong, but he still managed to come back every year to Europe, because of the way he was with Bracongo. Mirage wasn't smart enough.

Speaking of Mirage, I met him in 2005 through my uncle who was one of his staff in Masina(my home town) where he was living and I remember him telling me we will meet each other one day in Europe. This was during the time he just joined the group but not yet a full member...from what I gathered that day, he had dreams of staying in Europe if that opportunity presented itself and being a big big star was never his ambition and it shows now. He rather do a Monday to Friday job than fulfilling or pushing his music career...useless

Mirage was victim of something unlogical just like many artists over the years, maybe some of those who were in place saw another potential star coming to fight them so azuaki masolo surement,i remember at some point celezino even used to banter him calling him "musicien ya 1664 na 8'6"(if it does not exist in anglophone countries its beers) and mirage who used to be the clean guy who despite growing "in the ghetto" went to nice profile schools and "did not act like a musician" became somebody who would according to some friends sometimes talk alone,drink a lot and so on
i think he should have accepted the skol offer,they'd have helped him get a visa back surely,bill was back to europe not long after returning
like jv said mirage is a bit strange in the sense that he had almost everything to be a longterm big name,but he thinks like a session artist or an artist of the styles of lokua,jupiter and co,not too popular, but " pure artists",celebrity aint his problem at all he seems to appreciate glimpses of it but not live the thing on daily basis like others i think thats what scared him for becoming like oncle rece wanted the plan b to ferre fally departure

Guys like Mirage piss me off, he literally had the buzz and the perfect start up that so many struggling artists dream of but he wasted it. But come to think of it he was only 23 at the time and obviously wasn’t mature enough so I kinda get it.
On another note I do think if he and Junior returned to Kin after Fally and Ferre left they along with Asso would’ve led the new QL lineup like Depitcho, Mamale, Babia, and Eric did after Academia formed, and Koffi might’ve been less hurt.

The best interview he made at that time was with Addy Londole. Addy asking him, if he knew a song of Wazekwa and him replying by Bonjour Monsieur and dissing both Modogo and JDT calling them faux chanteurs and at some moment imitating Modogo's way of singing.
