Lol how is Willy still gonna start singing QL songs when he’s a member of Zaiko. Was his heart really in Zaiko when he was there? Because he ran away in Europe when they came, and in an interview he said he was still following QL and even when they performed at Olympia he was impressed.

In Zaiko singing a song of another artist is not seen as a problem. I've seen some interviews singers singing songs of Viva La Musica & Wenge Musica. Zaiko has still that family spirit of the 70s. Alot people don't even know that the song of the late Aziza was rehearshed at home with Pepe Kalle. Willy Bula left because Nyoka Longo gave him peannuts. Like Beniko Popolipo and Rocky Blanchard he was already not happy in Kinshasa with the money they were getting in Zaiko.
It's normal that Willy's heart would still be in Quartier Latin, because he started his professional career there and contributed to the rise of that band. But in Congolese music, you have various musicians playing in a band, but their heart being something else. For example the generation after Poison, had alot musicians who were in reality Wenge BCBG-fans, but just joined the Zaiko to get in Europe.

So a lot of young people didn't respect Zaiko at that time anymore? I thought Poison helped them recover a little fame, but I definitely see how musicians who couldn't join QL or Wenge joined them.
