To be honest bro, you have to think about what fame gives to you and what it doesn't give to you.
I understand DMX feelings cause I have been throught the same feelings (I never did drugs but I understand why people use it to wash the pain away) usually when you are poor and you become famous family and friends start to ask you money, favours, gifts etc. And on the first hand you give it to them cause hey they are your friend but after a while where you are the milionaire and your family is on 9 to 5 it starts to becomes heavy, now you can't speak with your normal family and friends about stuff cause your lifestyle and motivations are different you want to make an impact they want to have some money and they see as a bank without any loans, you start to fit I with the rich white people your income level can give you access too, but those white people aren't really your family and can't understand like the people back home, before you were famous you had woman I your life, sure, but no way near the level you have now that you are famous and everybody might think man that's great, yes it is great in the short run but in the long run it is horrible, you can't have a fulfilling relationship because you always find groupies who know everything about you and you don't know anything about them you think they are serious until you discorlver they wanted your money or maybe your clout but didn't give a damn about you as a person, and now you just don't trust women at all, and I think DMX was in this position I will describe. You have all money I the world but your family see you as a bank you have probably a bitter babymomma who made herself get pregnant by you and don't make you see the kids plus having all these doubts about who is real between people who claim that they love and who is fake trying to get some quick bucket, and that's why DMX overdosed.
With this analysis out of the way all the rappers and celebrities who are saying DMX are hypocrites as fuck and I am talking rappers and American celebrities trust me it doesn't take a genius to understand DMX did what he did because he felt.lonely and if you could check on any of those guys phone you would find out none of them reached out to DMX to ask him how he was going.

Addiction is an illness ndeko it’s not that easy to just stop, he was addicted to crack since he was 14.

indeed its not easy to get away from addiction for those who know ivorian artist petit denis, the guy has done maybe 100 of rehabs but he still falls again and again into it

I always respected DMX for his rawness, his authenticity, his ability to be vulnerable about his issues and not being scared about it. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there. When you listen to his music, you just FEEL his passion. That's how you know -- shit is real.
Addiction is nothing to play with. Seriously. You never know when your life is gonna go. That's why we gonna cherish each day breathing...
RIP X, your iconic run from the late 90s to the early 2000's will always be legendary! Not forgetting, one of the smoothest and exciting flows Hip Hop has ever had!!! The only person I can think off that comes close is Notorious BIG.

I don't think he is known much Congolese music is too wide and rich for people to listen to American artists plus most Congolese people don't have internet so even if they tried to expand their horizons a limited amount of People would have the internet to even know who DMX was

Is internet still an issue in Congo? I wander cause this could be a problem for Congolese artists marketing their music.
