Title: Why people don't say that Zaiko also influenced Quartier Latin in Magie ?
Post by: Mfumu Vata on May 28, 2021, 02:34
People often saying that Quartier Latin copied Wenge Musica 4x4 in Magie due to Beevans Rappa animating like Ekokota. But why don't they say tgat Zaiko also influenced them. Because Wenge Musica 4x4 never used distortions in their sebenes, while Zaiko Langa Langa's solist Baroza Bansimba (RIP) did i often in concerts of 1993 and ending up by becoming a trend for almost all bands in Zaire during the 90s. The druming style of Kaps Kapangala & Coco Tchomba wasn't even close to that of Titina but more to that of Meridjo.

in the album-version it was played by the late Shiro Vuemba, but here it's the late Yoto Nkelani "Delta Force" playing it (Shiro already passed away)

A lot of people did not know that Koffi had worked with Zaiko Langa Langa. So no doubt Zaiko would have influence on the music of Koffi. I heard that Nyoka initially supported Koffi's group Quartier Latin back in the 1980s.
