Sadly this relationship was bound not to last because when Papa Wemba not to harm one another, you can hear Koffi laugh which means that he did not like what he said with that comment. Sadly Koffi and Papa would be bitter enemies until Wemba's death.

Wemba was the head of AMC and Koffi the vice until he left in 2007, just before the Wazekwa-started. The relationship changed in 2009, when Koffi sued Wemba about his declarations he made in the press about piracy. That moment changed after thing a few years later something happened which made the relationship worser and Wemba not inviting Koffi to his wedding. Koffi tried to force a reconcilation through Lions Club, but it didn't work and the conflict worser, Wemba saying that he forbid Koffi to come to his funeral, when he's not more on earth.

If Papa Wemba never died, do you think they could have patched up their friendship? It seems like they're brothers – they may bicker and ignore each other for some time, but they always seem to come together. And do you believe that Koffi is a bridge burner or Wemba is too sensitive?

I think that they would have ended up by reconciling after a few years. The problem is just that Koffi often do nasty stuff behind the scenes and likes to mock people. For example when he was spending time together with Wemba during those Maïsha Days, he said to other colleagues “look to this guy. He’s finished, but tries to come close to me to get some fame hahahahha. I will not give a little light to him”. Those bandleaders had something like, why he’s talking like that about Wemba. Wemba was informed about it, but he would often ignore it.

could you make a thread about Koffi & Wemba’s whole beef ? You seem to know a lot and I’d like to know more about it
