One Person I never thought I’d see go back to Kin., Lmao he’s now saying he was never a combattant. It’s funny how he admits how he can be crazy at times hahaha, now that he’s on god terms with Koffi he wants to perform at U Arena which wouldn’t be a bad thing
Looool these Academia guys are always pointing the finger at each other over the fallout with each saying they were against going back to Kin so soon and not listening to their label and recruiting.

I will get in trouble but I will say it anyway. As I said before, Celeo Scram would have better in Quartier Latin. I could have seen Somono returning to Quartier Latin in 2004 with Celeo Scram, you would have definitively have a great duo here. I could have seen a great duo chemistry between Somono Dolce and Celeo Scram.

Seeing all interviews of Academia-members (except Pathy Bass who only talked about Quartier Latin). I think that they all agreed to return to Kinshasa for concerts and recruit musicians to be a respected band. Looking back to it, I found it first wrong, but now I don't think that it was bad. Yeah to share money would be more difficult, but they succeeded in creating a myth with their band like Wenge Aile Paris in 1992 & 1993, due to their triomphal arrival in Kinshasa and succesful concerts at Cinémax, l'Esplanade de Palais du Peuple, Intecontinental, Abidjan, Brazzaville and Pointe Noire. Something that Nouvelle Génération of Luciana, Awilo and Fafa de Molokai weren't able to do, due to most not having papers and not wanting to take risks, only profiting of their succes in Europe and when coming back in 2000 already being to late. Being the disgrace of bana poto, by being the first based band of Europe having huge mpiaka at Cinemax and Palais du Peuple (Salle de Congres) If Academia stayed longer together they could have reached another the dimension.
I watched Faustin Djata's second interview and he said that when Academia toured in Europe with Tonton Lay and co. They were always arguing in rehearshals, adding that there wasn't any rehearshal that ended without an arugment between Somono and Sam Tshintu.

It was really mean for Koffi to refuse them to have cars and especially that he ordered his friend to scam Somono's and Lebou's money, which was meant to pay the customs in Matadi to get their cars. Koffi wanted to be the only one with a new car and a good life, he also didn't like them to start their own small businesss (back in 1993, he did Suzuki and Coco Tchomba really dirty by scamming their money which was meant to start a barbershop, he did the same thing to Rosette). He wanted to have control on them and them being his slaves. That's why if somebody was left behind in Kinshasa, the musicians would immediatly being broke, because he hadn't any income sources. Thiking about that, despite them being the only band to be paid every month, they were still at the same level like other bands of Congo, because other musicians wouldn't get paid every month, but would still get the same money through small businesses and matolo.
Koffi then being mad that Somono "disrespected" him about his car and the money ? and seeing that Somono was replacable for Olympia, when seeing Mboshi animating alone in Kenya and Ivory Coast. Bandleaders are crazy.
The Magie/Loi-generatioon had huge succes, but they weren't living like it had to be, while their friends of Wenge 4x4 were going back every trip with a new Benz. The creation of Academia really changed his mind and him immediatly buying cars for Champion, Depitcho, JF Ifongé, Babia, Felly Tyson, Do Akongo, Beniko Popolipo and Binda Bass. But he still not wanted to hear about some small businesses, which made many musicians of QL doing it in secret or buying landplots in secret, fearing their boss.

Of course they all agreed and they sort of had to return to Kin because it was a year since no one in Kin saw them. That's the only part I agreed with them, instead of following their labels wishes and started touring in Europe straight away with Secteur A forgetting that most of their fan base was in Kin.
About recruiting the musicians I'm 50/50, it made sense but at the samne time it made Academia implode quickly with them fighting about who's the boss, because one of the reasons Bouro left was due to that and with Eric Menthe already there as his replacement, Lebou and Pathy left with them being replaced by Pitchou Concorde who was already waiting and Rocky Blanchard. Somono ended up being replaced by that atalaku who participated in 4 Coins Kandala, and Modogo was literally about to be replaced by Guy Bazunga (who is Sam's cousin) and he's also a writer, Mboshi was almost about to get replaced too.
They should've waited another year or two and then recruit more musicians, but overall it was a good look for them to bring those musicians to Europe.
Man I really want someone to interview either Somono, Pathy Bass or Mboshi about the full story of Academia, we only get little bits and bobs.

Sir Somono does appear on the song. He only does a few animations. The rest are done by Celeo Scram. Clearly Somono liked Celeo much more.
