The instrumentals of Awilo generic's made sound like Japonais knew that guitars have souls. Especially the first one, he doesn't play fast, but the guitar expresses alot emotion.

Caien Madoka played other songs on both albums. Japonais used to play the sebene of Gater le Coin often in Wenge 4x4 concerts. He mention it also often in interviews as one of the sebenes he played for Awilo Longomba.

I remember that was the era of copycats in Congolese music. I remember a press conference was even held in Kinshasa to address this, fans especially non - congolese were becoming confused.
I guess creative sharing was allowed back in those days.

Both songs are really played by Japonais. When Japonais stayed in Europe after having played for Wenge 4x4, he became a session-player. His reputation started to grow more after playing for Aime Buanga in Engombi and Emeneya's Succes Fous. That's why Awilo asked him to play for his album Coupe Bibamba, knowing him already since the 80s where he used to play for Tazz Junior. Awilo liked his way of playing and when he started recording his 3th album Kafou Kafou, he waited for Japonais to come back in Europe to also participate. If you buy both albums, you can see Japonais' name credited on it.

Japonais is one of Awilo's favorite solists. He participate in almost every Awilo album. He also played Karolina for Awilo and played some sebenes in Superman. Awilo went last year to Kinshasa just to let Japonais participate in his single Sapeur Pompier.
