the part he talks about late ya def talking to him about that shirt which was sent to him as a "gift" to destroy him i had already heard but i was not believing at all boga was quite close to ya def and giving him shoutouts in almost every interview in kin,hopefully he's just making it up or if its really true like i heard years ago then thats sad

i dont think it was a band member but rather a band leader of those days (not the recent wave of the past 15 years)

I remember during the Bomoko-era in 2013 or2014, when Koffi didn't come to Goma while all musicians came, someone close to Nyoka Longo saying multiple bad things about Koffi when I friend of mine (who is a huge Koffi fan), asking why they are so mean against Koffi. One of the example he gave was exactly the same what Bogus said, that Koffi sended a common friend to Defao in Nairobi and Defao making the mistake to give a cloth as gift, the guy then giving it to Koffi who ceremonies with it in Montfleury and later on taking his musicians based in Nairobi. The man went further with giving example about how Reddy Amisi, Isiro 1er and Shora Mbemba got finished. But got interrupted when some came to calm him down, because he and my friend were screaming and almost about to fight.
I was about doubting about it, thinking that he was like many Zaiko-fanatics jealous of Koffi's succes. Because back then Defao was always talking positive about Koffi, saying in interviews that he was one of the rare musicians based in Kinshasa with who he would tak often. I remember during the 13eme Apotre-days, him once in one of his many Elengi ya Congo-interviews showing a message from Koffi, that Koffi asked him to search someone who would distribute his album in Kenya. It was only recently when he came to Paris in 2019 before his return to Kinshasa, that he started to attack Koffi indirectly in interviews. Accusing Koffi for the many problems he got when he was on his prime (losing at Kora Awards, not getting visa's for his tour, the disbanding of Big Stars, etc.) and his exil.

And then the same Koffi goes around in interviews asking himself why do other Leaders hate him. Zobozi hates him, Werra too, JB will ban you from ever entering in BCBG again if you mention his name Beniko the same, Papà Wemba didn't want him in his funeral and even Wazekwa who is the chillest guy ever had massive problems with Koffi. Oh I forgot to mention also how he made Karmapa lose his marriage with his wife. Buy Koffi will say "I wonder why people hate me". When even your own daughter Is Fed up with you, you know you are a terribile person.
