In the teaser, I saw he confirmed the Sony CBS contract being presented to Zaïko, but I guess admins didn't want others to have very good lives like them. But I think it also has another bad side, Sony would have wanted Zaïko to make commercial music (adapted to larger audiences, shorter songs...)

People were really mad about Ado asking to Sec Bidens about relationships with women and Sec himself not being comfortable with that, but he still forcing him and now he's still continuing it with Jimmy Yaba. He's lucky that Ya'Jimmy is cool.

Jimmy mistook Olympia with Zenith. So sad that they missed their shows at Zenith and Forest National in 1988 becuase of the split. Those shows would have boosted Zaiko even more and put them on another dimension.
What Jimmy Yaba said about the late Jacob Desvarieux is similar to what Emeneya once said in 2005. I am surprised to hear that he and Jocelyn Beroard used to be Zaiko-fans and often visit their shows in Paris before becoming famous.
Is it true that Emeneya was also among the bandleaders in 2002 that were against Zaiko receiving visa's for Zenith de Paris ? I always felt like Nyoka Longo never liked Emeneya.

Even if they were signed to Sony CBS, guys like Bimi Ombale, Nyoka Longo and Dindo Yogo could just record solo-album aside if they like the Kassav-members would do. Viva La Musica survived like that with Stino Mubi, Joly Mubiala, Reddy Amisi and co having the freedom to release solo-albums, when Papa Wemba signed with Martin Messoniers and later Peter Gabriel. Receiving 4000 dollars as salary, having a house on your name and a car is for a Congolese musician is alot when you compare it to what they were receiving in Kinshasa as bandmembers (sometimes even nothing).

Obviously it’s like 30 years ago but every time I hear this story I feel as though it’s one of the most saddest stories in the history of the genre because the kind of doors it could’ve opened to make this thing normal and also to wake up the genre in terms of organisation which I think has been a bit lacking ever since VEVE, but also it’s nice because if they signed there’s many albums we wouldn’t have got to hear. How interesting history is
