he talked about his various groups until he joined tabuley i have yet to finish interview but i was surprised that in 70's already there was that thing of leader knowing you are not on the list for trip but calling you to come to be "humiliated" or pretending to have forgotten something at home and sending the guy to look for it and by the time he's back you are gone

Tabu Ley was the first bandleader where musicians started to stay in Europe. He was also the first one that had musicians that started to stay in West-Africa (Ivory Coast & Benin) during tours in the mid-70s.
