Title: TO THIS DAY I STILL WONDER WHAT BEK WOULD SOUND LIKE WITH QL ‘05 SQUAD

I’ve always been wondering what it would sound like, especially the song that Koffi has planned featuring himself, Fally and Ferre. Would there have been better Sebene and Generiques ? And I’m sure the musicians would’ve had more vocals. I would’ve loved to hear how they would’ve sounded in Bomengo.

It’s crazy how literally every singer that participated in Danger De Mort there’s no vocals of them in BEK, even those that stayed like and were still credited like Montana, Shella, Jypson, Junior, Asso. The only one that participated was Arca Dinheiro despite having his vocals deleted in Danger De Mort

That is a great question. Also, how would the squad of Droit de Veto & Academia sound like on Attentat?

I’m not fussed about Attentat because it was a great album with the Bercy team. If you wanna know what it would sound like just listen to Sanction and some songs of Attentat and you have your answer, but BEK is different

Here Koffi sung the last line of Plat Favori, which he normally wanted to use on BB Gout. But he modified the song later. There used to be a video with the same squad in I think Germany or Ireland, singing the second part of Salopette

Which defection was the worst for Koffi? The initial split of Quartier Latin (Sam Tshintu, Bouro Mpela, Modogo, ect.) or the second splt (Fally, Ferre, Soleil, ect.)? In my opinion, the second split hurt the worst, because he would never promote the band again. If Sukuzi hadn't stolen the money from Zenith 2007, maybe Zoe Bella, Rolly, and Bapince would have returned to Kinshasa and things would be better with Joss Diena as Chef of Orchestra.

I feel like Koffi lost confidence in his ability to make stars, because to this day he doesn't promote his team.

Also, would Cindy come in the band. Also, if she would be in the band, would Koffi make her the 2nd leader of Quartier Latin or treat her like a regular member?

You answered your own question there. Tbh the Academia defection was the best thing to happen to Koffi and QL because otherwise we wouldn’t have seen the talents of the likes of Fally, Soleil, Lola, CNN, Brigade, Kerozene and co.
Also if the loss of Fally and co didn’t happen the way it did we might’ve got more stars coming out of QL in terms of solo musicians, because the first generation of Suzuki, Sam some of them would’ve had good solo careers did they were from different generation because back in the 90s early 2000s you couldn’t just leave and have a solo career, Sam was on his way to be a solo star but the problems of Academia and Ngulu killed his career. If Koffi continued QL with the same structure with the generation of mineurs and bek Im certain he would’ve produced more successful solo offshoots.

I always ask myself this question, also which song would Koffi had planned featuring Fally and Ferre. Some guys in danger de Mort team like Junior and Mirage left too early. Same with Les Mineurs guys like Rolly, Bapince, Scottie Pippen etc left too early they could’ve been stars especially Rolly he could’ve been big along with Junior
