why are people writing in other languages a lot more on this site? it makes it hard to participate in conversations.

Hi windeck
welcome here,dont take it personnally aswell but its only a few of us who have been posting for months now,so we took some habit since we were understanding each other well like that,now i realised you are with us,i will translate what i say from now on,but i have to be honest sometimes when i say stuff in lingala its stuff which are kind of embarrasing to say in english,you see what i mean?
dont hesitate to ask me what you want to understand in the parts in lingala posted here

Other languages you mean lingala.....no offense aswell but isn't the forum called congovibes/ Congolese Music?......personally, i find other things funnier to say in lingala than in english...example "kizengi moko boye", that shit aint funny in English if you try translate it

voila valentino summed it up perfectly there are things which are easier and funnier to say in lingala
but its clear that the vast majority of the threads are in english

I'm not saying you can't use Lingala but when half of a thread is in Lingala and I'm into a discussion it sucks for me I guess. You can continue using Lingala if you want though I'm not trying to stop anyone.

I concur with her....over the past weeks, I have wanted to complain.....archos used to write in English and then translate but stopped....

emo i never wrote articles in lingala it was only when i was replying directly to either sly of one of the congolese guys sorry for that,like i said to windeck feel free to pick some of those lingala which interest you and i will translate

What I meant is that, you sometimes write something in Lingala then translate the same sentence in English....that is the way to go, not Lingala or French through out...

Like archos has stated,he only writes in lingala when he's asked something in lingala especially by me or the other guys like jdog. Sometimes we just comment or quote lingala words as said by musicians,some can be hard to interprate because they are bad so words so we just have a laugh amongst ourselves.

But why have you been watching by the fence without joining in anyway? :lol:
We started using lingala coz it looks like there's only a few of us posting so we keep each other posted, when we see that others are participating in conversions we will make an effort to spread the musical news to everyone since now we know there other people watching however I still strongly urge you and everyone participate in discussions that way you encourage us to even post many things.

I have noticed that quite a number of discussion is written in lingala, it is difficult to understand. So I urge everyone, myself included to please participate in the discussions.

yes when we are talking in lingala it happens very instinctively actually we dont necessarily realise right at that moment that others cant understant its only afterwards
so dont hesitate to ask for translation

As long as people respond we will not use lingala unnecessarily unless responding directly to each other for instance if I ask archos a question directly on the forum because I know he's the only one will likely give me an answer to the question.
Once again, I urge everyone following this forum to take part,if you have no new stories to share at least ask questions so that it's not only me,archos,jdog and Janvion making the forum active.

voila sly,nobody has ever created a thread in lingala,lingala arrived when its direct conversation between two lingala speakers
now if you want to understand what we say,ask directly instead of watching it happen several times and then look upset when finally talking about it,it will be better for anybody
