I’ve seen many post by Colombians and his fellow bandmember Ngouma Lokito announcing his death in the United States.

Who is he?
-
RIP - Lokassa ya Papier
He is arguably the most prolific rythmist the genre has seen in terms of discography and number of African artists he’s collaborated with. He was also one of the founding members of Soukous Stars

Who is he?
One of the reasons for the creation of this Forum, ;D ;D ;D , the GOAT of guitarists.

Rest in peace legend

Could we get a list of the albums he participated on? I know he has some solo material.
-
Hahaha list will be huge. Because he started his career with Tabu Ley Rochereau, being one of African Fiesta National's first members. It was in that period that Roger Izeidi signed a slavecontract with an European label that forced them to record 200 songs or something like that within a period of 3 years. He participated to Ley's show at l'Olympia Bruno Coquatrix.
Lokassa is known to be the creator of the mi-composé guitar style

He participated like Ngouma Lokito to many soukous-albums recorded in the late 80s and early 90s. He also participated on King Kester Emeneya's album Succes Fous and Felix Wazekwa's Tetragramme

a short biography in french. I think that will make a bigger one the coming days

WHO IS HE???

One of DR Congo best rhythm guitarists. He was very important for Tabu Ley's music and was among guitarists who created for the soukous that we know. His stay abroad in West Africa, France and USA made foreign people respect him more than Congolese people themselves.

Coupe Decale artist DJ Caloudji sampled a part of his guitar partition in sentiment moko

from 1:18 min & 1:52 min on 2:34 you can someone praise him as "loboko ya mosantu, lokassa ya mbongo". I don't know from which song it came.

Yeah - They treated him like royalty in Colombia and parts of the US
The sampling comes from soukous Star’s “tantina” (6:00-)

Also DJ Jacob did a sample of his rythme on Gadji Celi’s famous Maroc 88’ song

194 albums? Was he making an album every month?

It's more like the albums of other artists that he played on, as well as his solo albums. He really was one of the most prolific Congolese musicians.

;D ;D ;D
please educate him...don't beat him up
-
Wow...you just dont expect some people to pass on, you think you will still hear their names being called out in songs forever!
May his soul RIP

He is royalty in Colombia. They liked him and he toured there with their local artists. He is one of the finest rhythm guitarists. You cant mention Congolese music without him.
-
Caen Madoka and Dally Kimoko are probably the last of the soukous era soloists still alive but not active
